AUTHOR'S NOTE: So sorry for the extremely late chapter I've been really busy....Im making it up to you by UPDATING!!!!!!!!!! Yay!

PRIM'S POV

"Psst, Prim" I hear a voice say

I open my eyes and see Rue trying to get my attention

"What?" I ask in a whisper

Instead of saying anything, she points to something above us.

Its a nest.

"Let's cut it down. It'll drop on the careers" Rue whispers back

I nod my head in agreement.

I take the knife that was in the backpack and slowly take it out.

When I get closer to the nest I realize its a Tracker Jacker. I've learned about these in school and they are deadly.

The gamemakers may have put them in here.

I soon start to cut the branch slwoly.

It begins to break but it's still in tack. It's hard now that the tracker jackers are flying around Rue and I.

The nest soon falls to the ground and explodes all over the careers.

Rue and I watch from above.

I see Glimmer (female tribute from District 2) is struggling to get away.

I watch as she gets trampled by the tracker Jackers. She falls to the ground.

BOOM

A cannon goes off.

Did I kill someone? Did I kill Glimmer?

"Let's go Prim!" Rue yells.

I turn back to Rue and start to run before realizing something.

I turn back around to Glimmer who took the bow and arrow from the Cornucopia.

I quickly get the bow from her lifeless body and take off running.

"Okay. I think we lost them" I say

"Yeah" Rue says

"I got a weapon" I say

"This is perfect! We can actually defend ourselves now!" Rue exclaims.

"Yeah we can" I agree

"We should put that bow in use and try finding some food" Rue suggests

"Yeah we should" I say

****

We walked around for a while and found water, and two rabbits. I think we got lucky.

Rue and I eat half of one rabbit while waiting for the anthem to play.

"That was a good idea" I say

"What was" Rue asks

"Dropping the nest over the careers" I say

"Oh thanks" Rue smiles.

I smile back then we hear the anthem.
Rue and I both pay attention and only Glimmer pops up.

"Goodnight" I whisper to myself.

"We should get some sleep" rue suggests

"Yea" I agree

We both put the left over rabbits into the backpack and secure the rope.

"Goodnight Prim" Rue says

"Goodnight Rue" I say back, right before I close my eyes.
