For Orlando

As the music pounded
As your body moved to that same beat
Thump Thump Thump
Base moving at the rhthym of your own heart
racing
even faster as you see the blue haired boy
his eyes shining under the neon lights
teeth glowing under UV
He is beautiful
And you feel beautiful
Thump Thump Bang
The smile on his face is gone
And replaced by a look of pure
Pure
Terror.
And you turn, confused
And then you are a deer
lost in the flashing headlights
of the barrel
and you think in a moment
a flash
a bullet of light
of your mother's eyes when love won
of your father's eyes as he finally grew
to love you for who you were
of your personal heroism
and this is lost
in a
single
bang.
the thump thump thump
is gone
your future with the beautiful blue boy
is gone
your future
is gone
and what is the response
of the news
the politicians
nothing.
their response is filled with white noise
and nothing
they drone on and on and on
about
"terror"
but they don't seem to care
about that moment of pure agony and fear
that flash
so turn off your tv screen
crumple up the paper
and sit for a moment
and pray
pray for the brave who lost their lives
pray for their families who accepted their choice
they were heroes in their own lives
that ended too soon.
let them grief in peace
and may they rest in peace.

i know this isn't an update but i have been so emotional about what has happened in orlando that I had to write this.
RIP all those who died in orlando and my prayers are with their families and friends
