We began the trek to Valenthia. I kept quiet as my paws padded on the ground softly. I knew Triss and Geralt worried about me. It was raining, I kept my head low my ears drooped by my eyes. I huffed as I moved, my muscular shoulder blades stretched my skin. We reached Valenthia and I had turned into my human form, I pulled my hood over my head. I wandered into a cloth makers shop looking for a new dress as mine was now very tattered from my constant transformations.

But that was a bad idea as people were looking for me. I hid behind the model as they spoke to the shop keeper. "Have you seen this beast?" They asked. The person kept quiet, next to me was a door that led out to the street, they opened it discreetly and I bolted out of it, I managed to trip up Geralt who snarled at me.

"That's where you went, stay close!" He ordered. I sighed and followed closely. I changed into my wolf and walked closely, my fur brushed against his shin, the cold leather brushed against my skin making a shiver run down my spine. The snow started to fall freezing my paws, I tried to move closer to Geralt but I ended up tripping over his feet. We reached the tavern and Geralt booked us a couple of rooms. I shared a room with him, as we entered the room I bolted to the fire instead of the bed. Geralt laughed.

I lifted my head and turned towards him, my ears pricked up high and faced him. I huffed before turning to the fire again. I rested my head over my paws, I felt a soft leather-gloved hand on my back stroking my fur and running down my spine. I looked up and saw Geralt, his eyes closed as he attempted to find out what was wrong with me, I thought about two wolves fighting, it was a fake thought but it would throw him off the scent. I heard Geralt sigh. "Why are you thinking about your parents?" He asked.

"I am?" I replied innocently.

"Yes, what is going on with you? Your parents were never wolves!" He exclaimed. "You're hiding something."

"Am not!" I snarled, my tail thumped against the ground, my claws dug into the wood and made it splinter.

"Phoenix I know when you're lying to me," he growled gripping the skin on the back of my neck. I turned around sharply, ripping his hand off my neck and rested my paws on his shoulders, I loomed over him and my jaws gaped over his throat. I breathed deeper a snarl ripped through me and huffed. I walked to the window, stood up on my hind legs, looked up to the moon and pined loudly. I missed travelling and being on the road as I knew we were going to be here for a couple of months, after all, it was where Yen and Geralt first met.
