"If we promise to help her no harm will come to us?" One elf asked again. Geralt nodded and backed off, the elves knelt down to my level and I  growled.

"Phoenix!" Geralt yelled at me. The trap was opened, I screamed a blood curling scream, and placed my hands over my face on. I didn't want to cry but I couldn't contain it anymore. Geralt rushed to me and gripped my hand. "Don't be such a baby, you've had worse," he laughed trying to make light of the situation. I weakly punched him in the arm as I began to fight for my consciousness, but as Geralt lifted me off the ground I passed out.

I woke up later in a tent, laying on my back, Geralt no where to be seen I didn't panic I could smell his scent, he wasn't far. I whimpered as the pain came back to me, "it's okay." An elf said. I tried to sit up but all strength failed me. "Take it easy." I ignored the elf,  pushed myself off the ground regardless and found Geralt outside by the fire.

"Go rest Phoenix," he said not turning around to look at me.

"No," I replied throwing myself down next to him.

"You're a fool," he said.

"No I'm stubborn," I said. He took a potion out of his bag and handed it to me.

"This will heal you a bit better," he said. I reluctantly took it and knocked it back. It burnt as it travelled around my body. But it healed my wounds, making the worst of the pain to disappear. I leant on Geralts shoulder and sighed. "I know that sigh, we are not moving till you're fully healed. We are safe here for now."

"Fine," I said and crossed my arms over my chest.

"You can pout all you like but I'm not risking your safety while you're weak," he said.

"I agreed, stop going on about it!" I said and stumbled up, I walked to the river. not far from the camp. I could feel Geralts eyes on me, watching my every move. I knelt down to the lake, I cupped my hands and washed the dirt off me. I even laid my injured foot into the water, hissing as I did. I heard footsteps behind me, I turned and there walking towards me was an elf.

"What do you want?" I growled.

"To check you're okay, and if you need a travelling companion while you heal I am more than happy to assist," he said.

"Just go away, I don't need you're protection I can take care of myself," I said.

"I can see that," he said looking me up and down.

"Are you insulting me?" I growled flashing my eyes at him.

"No of course not, just pointing out the obvious," he said. I growled again and stood up, I walked back to Geralt and sat next to him glaring at the elf.
