Cam.
*In the hall*
They're looking for Alexis and I didn't even know why. She was one of my best friends and it felt like I've known her my entire life so why was she so important to these people?
I gathered all of the courage I had and I swallowed my pride because as Alexis's friend, it was the right thing to do. "What do you want with Alexis?" I yelled, surprising myself, Norrie and the people around me. Everyone had a terrified look on their faces and I hardly knew any of these people but they all looked to me for some guide of a way out.
One of the gunmen raced up to me with his gun pointed directly at me. "You know her?" The man who looked a few years older than me demanded an answer, "do yourself some good and tell me where she is!"
My hands began to tremble and my mind began to race with the fact that I faced a man with a fucking gun! "Uh, I don't know where she is. She's obviously not here otherwise you wouldn't be asking that question so we can cross the hall off the list."
He clicked the long gun in my face and glared at me like I've offended him in some way. "Don't play stupid, boy. Where is she?" He aimed the gun at me and for some reason, my fear went away and the sarcastic Cam came out to play.
"I don't know," I spat, "if I did, I wouldn't be sitting here, would I?" I raised my eyebrows at the man with a gun. "She's coming for you, you know. And she'll beat your ass to the ground."
He began to go red in the face with anger and he aimed the gun directly at Norrie who grabbed my arm in fear and squeezed it. "Cam!" She screamed, "just tell them if you know anything!"
I could hear the shakiness in her voice and my face softened. "Listen to the girl, Cam. Unless you want her body lying over there in that pile of bloody mess."
I nodded my head. "I know her but I have no idea where she is." He stared at me and drew the gun away and when he turned away from me, I sighed with relief as he began to slowly walk away.
I looked towards Norrie with a reassuring smile when a shot was fired, sending my ear drums to nearly explode and my leg throbbing with severe pain and that was when I screamed.
*
I've never seen Norrie act like this.
She was terrified for her life and I've been shot in the leg. I never thought a gunshot wound would hurt like this; it was a pain I couldn't describe and now I could say that I've been shot. The men in black with guns watch what was left of this group like hawks.
Most of the people that were here at the start of the night were stacked up, body after body at the back wall. I couldn't look at it anymore. I've never seen anything like it and these people didn't care, they've announced that they're looking for Alexis but for what?
Her face popped into my mind and how I used to wind her up by hitting on her and flirting with her. Before Jess, she would have blushed and flirted back but after Jess, she told me to stick it where the sun don't shine. Why were they looking for her? Because her father was a cop, because she could fight like she was part of the FBI and she caught some bad people and put them in prison?
"Maybe Alexis is secretly part of the CIA!" I whispered to Norrie who tried to stop blood coming out of my shot up leg, I winced in pain but I still kept my cocky personality in tack to make Norrie smile.
She stared at me like it was impossible. "Yes, Cam," she rolled her eyes, "because our friend, Alexis Archer, has been part of the CIA for many many years and she didn't even bother to tell us!"
