"The other night, when we went to his house..." Josh sighs. He came to the park early today to talk to you before Tyler came. "After you fell asleep...I talked to him. He talked to me."
You look at him. It didn't seem like Tyler was able to talk that night, especially since he was silent for so long afterwards.
"He..." Josh rubs his face with his hands. His face has a strange expression, almost as if this has happened before, and he's tired of it. "He tried to kill himself. Again."
You swallow back your tears and take a shaky breath. The word again rings in your ears.
Josh looks down at the ground. "He didn't succeed, that's why he was just..." Josh shakes his head. "Sitting there." He frowns, and his hands ball into fists. "I know I shouldn't, but I get so mad at him sometimes! Doesn't he understand? Doesn't he understand that I need him? That I-"
You put your hand on Josh's arm, and he finally looks over at you. The corner of his eyes sparkle with tears.
"Maybe..." Josh murmurs quietly. "Maybe you could talk to him?"
