Alexander was released almost a month and a half later, with only the warning of taking things lightly, because he was at risk of a blood clot. That meant no drugs.

But did that stop Alexander?

Hell no.

After only a week of being released, he went to three raves and two parties (one of them to celebrate him leaving- but there were still drugs). He and Lafayette got high twice together (and had sex once).

He was Alexander Hamilton. He was invincible.

However, he knew he had to stop eventually. John was alive, and he needed to see him. What he had done for John when he was in the coma, John supposedly did for him. They needed to be reunited.

Wasn't it crazy how the worst can bring two people together in the best of ways?

He drove to the Schuyler's home, remembering to wash the smell of pot out the best he could and dressing nicely. Alexander had met the girl's father before, he had been to their house, so he knew the importance of looking nice. First impressions were everything in that household.

He knocked on the door, the normal anxiety forming in his stomach. "Hello, Phillip!"

"Alexander, my boy!" Phillip opened the door wider. "Come on in. The girls and John are upstairs."

He said his thanks, walking up the stairs. The first time he had been to the house, he was taken aback by the niceties. Now, he wasn't even fazed by how amazing it looked.

The first thing he noticed when Alexander walked in was that Peggy was missing.

The second thing he noticed was that John was crying.

The two sisters were at his side, and Eliza shot him a pleading look.

Alexander sat by John, ignoring how erotic him sitting at John's knee's could be taken. He took John's hands. "John, listen to me."

"A-Alex?"

"It's me," Alexander smiled. John opened his eyes and began to cry harder. Alexander panicked. "Should I leave?"

"Stay." One word, one syllable. John managed to get it out without choking on his sobs.

"Okay."

"T-talk to me. P-please..."

"About what?"

"A... anything..."

Alexander smiled despite his fear. He needed to know why John was sobbing, and the sisters seemed to have sworn an oath of silence. Alexander bit his lip nervously, thinking of a good topic. "I like to think I know you well, John," he started. "I know all the dangerous aspects of your life, all the negative things- shit, I didn't mean it like that. I... I meant... I know all the deeper things. I want to know your surface. What makes you laugh, your favourite book, TV show, movie genre, dream vacations... John, do you want to do a Q-and-A?"

John smiled weakly, and Alexander felt a surge of pity. "Sure."

"Let's start. What's your favourite book? I like the Harry Potter series."

"U-uh..." John paused. "I-I read this book about n-n-necromancy. It was called, like, Johannes Cabal... or... or something like that. It w-was really funny and r-r-r-really good. I... I liked it."

Alexander smiled. "I'll check it out! Next question. Favourite..." Alexander was going to ask food, but he realised just in time that was a bad question. "Subject?"

John wrinkled his nose. "H-history."

Alexander grinned. "Mine's Language Arts."

The two went back-and-forth for nearly an hour before they ran out of questions. John had stopped crying, and Alexander's mood was lifted by that.

"Can I t...tell you something, A-Alex?"

"Anything," he promised.

"I think I love you."

Alexander's brain froze. The world seemed brighter somehow, and his heart skipped many beats. He grinned. "I think I love you, too."

John smiled widely, and Alexander couldn't help but return it.

"Why was he crying?"

"He went downstairs with us during one of Daddy's meetings."

"And?"

"He was called 'son.' Lovingly, but Daddy brought him in for a hug and he flinched away."

"Oh... is he being kicked out?"

"Thankfully not," Angelica sighed with relief. "He covered by saying he had a bruise there from standing up too quickly. They all believed it."

"So why was he sobbing?" Alexander was confused.

"Because that was when he realised he finally had a family."
