"WHY WOULDN'T YOU WANT TO SEE YOUR OWN SISTER HAPPY?"
- Peri

Peri's POV

It was finally the next day, and we all piled into the car. Our parents gave us the okay to invite close friends only, so I was very eager to see the usual gang waiting at the hotel. Obviously we all had to dress up, since this was a special event. Today reminded me so much of their wedding day, only, it was far less emotional.

"Hey Peri, is this going to take, like, long?" Asher asked, placing a stick of mint gum in his mouth. He had arrived at the same time as us, and I guess he didn't want to walk in by himself.

"No, but do you have somewhere to be?" I joke.

"All of my friends will literally be under this roof, I'm hoping it'll take long so that I won't have to go back home." He explained, and I shot him this pitiful look, as I placed my hand on his shoulder. "I'm being serious, though."

His family problems had completely skipped my mind, with all of the excitement that I was feeling. More so his maternal issues, and how different he was compared to her. The pressure that she applies to him daily would most definitely constitute as mental abuse. You know his living situation is getting bad when he comes to me, since one, I'm a girl, and two he's closer with Xavier than with me.

"You can stay with me if you want, my dad trusts you." I smile, gesturing back to my flustered father. Everyone else was trying to unload my mother, who decided that wearing the exact same dress that she did 12 years ago was a good idea.

"That means a lot." Just then, the rest of the gang showed up simultaneously. My eyes instantly snapped to Farrah, because she was giving me this weird look. The first thought that crossed my mind, was that it was fueled by jealousy. But I immediately buried it, because I wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt.

"What were you guys talking about?" Sammy asks.

"Why?" Asher snapped quickly, and everybody caught it.

"... Just making conversation." The girl awkwardly chuckled, before stepping over to Nathan.

After the ceremony was over, everybody gathered in the dinning hall for dinner. I couldn't help but notice how silent Nathan was during the whole thing. I attributed it to the fact that he was standing next to my father, since he probably didn't want to be there. After the couple paraded into the room, I saw him sneak out of the door to god knows where. Looking over my shoulder, I debated on getting up to follow him, but I was stopped.

"Baby," Roman greeted, before sitting down in Xavier's empty seat. I then thought about how distant he's been all night, but I didn't ask him about it. "I tried to give you space, but seeing you in this dress I-I couldn't."

I smiled at him for his words, but then what he actually said hit me. The boy leaned in to kiss me, his lips feeling just as soft as I remembered. "Wait, what?" I question, not understanding what he was talking about.
