the next morning I woke up very late. I had no time whatsoever to get ready for class, so I ended up going my plaid pajama pants, Luis' sweatshirt, slippers, and my hair in a super messy bun. yikes.

as I sat in class and listened to miss McKay's lesson about the civil war, a note was passed to me by Kenny.

I looked around the classroom, confused as to who the note was from. after a few seconds I locked eyes with Luis, who had a smirk on his face. I smiled at him from across the room, then gently unfolded the paper.

it read 'get ready after class, I'm taking you to Beverly Hills.'

a huge smile grew across my face and I giggled a little.

"Miss Hallie, please tell me what you think is so funny about warfare." said miss McKay, startling me. I quickly hid the note beneath my thigh.

"oh! umm... nothing about the civil war is funny, miss McKay." I said as I turned a bright red.

"what was that?" she asked, approaching my seat. "nothing." I said, nervously.

"let me see, Hallie." she said. I slowly handed her the note.

she opened it, then read it aloud.

"'get ready after class, I'm taking you to Beverly Hills.'" she read.

"how sweet." snickered Dean. the class broke into giggles.

"now, who is this note from?" asked miss McKay with a grin. "Luis." I said, quietly.

Luis hid his face with his hands and I couldn't help but laugh. the whole team giggled; even Adam thought it was funny.

of course, I was embarrassed. but it embarrassed Luis too and I got a kick out of it.

"I'll keep this." laughed miss McKay as she walked back to her desk.

I looked over to Luis who was peeking at me between his fingers, laughing.

I couldn't believe it, I was actually going to Beverly Hills. with Luis! I could hardly wait.

the rest of class was spent daydreaming and looking forward to later; I could care less about history.

class was over around 11:30, which gave Luis and I plenty of time to explore Beverly Hills and be back in time for our last practice at 7:00.

Luis and I walked home from class together, our hands joined between us as we made our way to the dorms.

"why are you taking me to Beverly Hills?" I asked Luis out of curiosity. "I want to spend some time with you. and what better way to do it than to explore the city of your dreams?" he said, smiling over at me. "you're great. I love you, Luis." I giggled.

after arriving at my vacant dorm, I got ready to go. I brushed out my long hair and left it down, then applied a coat of mascara.

just after I hooked my bra and went to grab the blouse I was going to wear, Luis barged in.

"hey Hallie are you almost rea- wOAh!" he shouted. I quickly grabbed my shirt and held it over me.

"you don't look half bad." he smirked.

"get out!" I squealed as I threw my jeans at him with my other hand. "sorry!" he laughed as he left and gently closed the door behind him.

I shook my head and laughed to myself once he was gone.

I continued to get dressed and put on some of Julie's perfume, then went to find Luis.

I spotted him in the lounge room watching television with Charlie.

"hi Charlie!" I said. "wow, you look nice. are you two going on a date?!" asked Charlie, suspiciously.

"I guess you could call it one." smirked Luis as he got up from the couch and scurried over to me, then put my hand in his.

"have fun." grinned Charlie. "thanks, we will." I said just before Luis led me outside.

"let's go." he said, smiling.

"do you even know how to get to Beverly Hills from here?" I asked. "of course I do. and it's not far, so it shouldn't take too long to get there." said Luis as he practically dragged me down the sidewalk.

after walking for about fifteen minutes, we made it to Beverly Hills.

it was gorgeous. the sky was blue, the air was cool, palm trees lined the streets; I'd never seen such a place.

"wow." said Luis, stopping in his tracks in awe. "it's amazing!" I squealed. "come on!" I said as I took him by the hand.

we walked hand in hand down the busy sidewalk, admiring our surroundings.

"where do you want to go?" I asked Luis. "well, it's almost lunchtime, let's go get something to eat." he said, smiling. "sounds good." I grinned.

"how about Mexican?" he laughed. "hah, very funny. I want Italian." I giggled. "fine." he said.

we found a little Italian restaurant not far from where we were. surprisingly, it wasn't busy at all; we got seated immediately. the two of us sat in a cute little booth with dim lights, a candle, and a rose in a vase. how romantic.

"I love it here, Luis. thank you so much for taking me." I said after we ordered our drinks. "you're welcome." he smiled. "I'm really happy I'm here with you."

the waitress came out with our drinks with a soft smile, then took our orders. I ordered some manicotti and Luis ordered cheese sticks with marinara sauce.

not long after the waitress took our orders, the food came out. the sight of it made my mouth water. once my plate was in front of me, I quickly dug in.

"this is so good." I said after taking my first bite. "how is your food, Luis?" I asked. "delicious!" he said with his mouth full. I couldn't help but giggle.

the rest of the meal was quite enjoyable; it was mostly spent talking about how excited we were to be in Beverly Hills and playing footsie beneath the table like we always did.

I was really happy getting to spend time with such an amazing boy who was even kind enough to foot the bill. naturally, I totally forgot to bring money, so that was good.

"where to next?" asked Luis after walking out of the restaurant. "hmmm" I said as I looked around. "how about we go to some shops?" I suggested with a grin. "sounds good." smiled Luis as he took my hand.

after walking for a moment, we came across a nice boutique.

"let's go in here." I said as I stopped walking. Luis went to go open the door, but it was locked. "hm. that's strange." he said.

we were both startled to hear a woman's voice come from an intercom. "sorry, no unattended children allowed." she said, strictly.

I rolled my eyes and started to walk off, but Luis pulled me back. "now we'll just see about that." he smirked

he took my hand and led me down a narrow alleyway between two shops. "Luis, what are you doing?" I asked. "we're sneaking in." he answered as he continued walking.

"come on Luis. there's plenty more stores to go to." I said. "yeah, I know. but we aren't children; we're teenagers. why shouldn't we be allowed in the damn store?" he said with a slight smirk.

"you're crazy." i laughed.
