Time flew by when you're having fun, they say. After the first month of your summer vacation had passed, you couldn't agree more. It was now July the first and when you looked back at everything you've done during your first month of summer vacation, you came up blank. You had done absolutely nothing useful, except from flirting with the new, handsome neighbor. That had to count as something, too.

You kept yourself busy as you listened to new songs that were released while you read books on your phone. You never left your bed or the lounger outside on the terrace to soak up some sun. Honestly, you didn't mind to spend your time like that. The school year was over and that meant stressing over the smallest things was also over. Your body needed time to recover and all you wanted was to relax. What better way was there then to drop yourself on the most comfortable chair you could find with your nose pressed in a book?

Your sister thought otherwise, though. She had been begging and pleading you for almost two weeks to accompany her to something ridiculously stupid. You couldn't even remember the occasion. The only thing that mattered to you was that she kept bugging you and waste your time and that irritated you to no end. The lost time could easily be spend getting stuck in one of your romance novels, but no, your sister desperately wanted some one-on-one time with you.

So, you continued to tell her off, saying she could go by herself or invite one of her friends to accompany her. Until your sister silently whispered in your ear she would buy Adele concert tickets for you. At that point you finally started to listen to what she had to say. You couldn't say no to a pair of Adele tickets, and your sister knew it.

Two days later you were sitting in the passenger seat of your sister's red Toyata with your arms crossed over your chest. You proceeded to grumble to yourself and silently muttered how you could be reading the newest addition to your bookshelf right now.

The two rectangular tickets in your wallet reminded you why you were doing this again, and just the thought of dancing along to Adele's hits brought a smile to your face.

You took a glance at your beaming sister behind the steering wheel and a sigh left your lips. She was always glowing a little more than normal once the celebrations of the fourth of July started again, and this year was no exception. The excitement radiated off of her. Her stomach was bubbling over with enthusiasm and she couldn't wait for the fireworks tonight. The idea of popping fireworks wasn't half as bad as you let on.

After the two hour drive you both stepped out of the car and started to walk toward the beach. The warm air covered your body like a blanket and sweat started to form on your hairline. Many people had already gathered around the beach. Everyone was smiling and talking and drinking. Next to you your sister couldn't hold it any longer and she let out a shriek out of elation.

It took you a solid ten minutes to find a good spot on the warm sand to sit. The buzz in the air was undeniable as the clock's small hand neared number twelve. You took a sip of your beer and looked around the beach. The place was stuffed with families who got ready for the spectacle to start.

5 minutes before the clock stroke twelve, your sister started to shift in her seat. You glanzed at her and noticed the uncomfortable look on her face as well as her legs bobbing. She shifted her weight from one leg to the other and she looked over to you.

"Do you think they have a bathroom close by?" your sister asked as she got up to her feet. You shrugged in response. "Do you mind if I take a look?"

"Just go already," you said, "I'll stay here. Be safe." As soon as the words left your mouth, she jumped in the air and ran as if she were on a mission.

A loud bang heard from above you startled you. You turned your eyes toward the sky and you were met with a beautiful pink and white explosion. The colors contrasted with the dark sky and you awed at the beauty of the moment. It was absolutely gorgeous.

After 10 minutes of staring at the sky, someone sat beside you. The said person's body heat warmed your side and a shiver crawled up your spine. When you looked next to you, your eyes found a grinning boy beside you. His brown curls fell wildly against his shoulders and the green in his eyes sparkled in joy.

Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion when the guy happily continued to sit next to you and stare at the sky. Every now and then he lifted a beer can to his mouth, but he didn't acknowledge the fact he was sitting very close to a stranger.

"Umm... Do you want something?" You asked with narrowed eyes.

Without looking at you the handsome stranger anwered, "Oh no, I'm good, thanks."

You huffed in disbelief and pursed your lips. The bangs of the fireworks were long forgotten by then. "M'sorry, but do I know you?"

The brown-haired man finally broke his stare with the dark sky and looked at you. His eyes scrutinized every inch of your face without feeling snow ounce of shame. The longer he kept your eyes hostage with his gaze, the harder your poor heart started to beat. Your ribcage started to throb from the heavy beating if your heart. You were that if the guy next to you would listen closely, he could he hear the thumping. The corners of his mouth quirked up. Involuntary your eyes travelled toward his pink lips, and then back to his eyes. His smile grew bigger when he realized your move.

"We don't know each other." The guy simply shrugged. "But I'm going to have to make you leave. You're making the other girls look bad." A boyish grin spread on his lips and you couldn't help but to chuckle at his pick up line.

"Yeah, right. Anyway, do you mind sitting somewhere else? That's my sister's seat you're sitting on."

"I'm good. I don't see your sister anywhere close, anyway."

You decided to change the subject, beacuse the stranger clearly didn't intend on leaving. "What are you doing here?" The question came out rather harsh, but the guy next to you slipped it off as he kept his little game going. You were happy he shrugged your behaviour off, beause honestly you didn't want him to leave yet.

"That's a good question." He bobbed his head as if to show he completely understood why you would ask that question. After a moment of thought, he continued, "Here's the truth, I was looking at the fireworks just like everyone else, when you caught my eye."

"And?"

"You kinda light up my world."

You laughed at his words and the bad quality of his attempts at flirting. The lopsided grin grew bigger when you laughed, and soon he was chuckling along. The sound of his chuckles was deep and pleasent to listen at. It vibrated in your chest and left a funny feeling in your stomach. You were flattered that such a handsome guy tried to get your attention.

"So, can I kiss you already?"

"I dont even know your name," you say to tease him a little. "I at least have to know your name before I let you kiss me." You suppressed the urge to wink at him, beacuse winking wasn't exactly one of your fortés, and the last thing you wanted to do was to scare the guy away with one of your weird winks.

"The name's Harry." He winked at you - it was the sexiest wink you had seen in your entire life - before diving in to find your hand and he placed a soft kiss on it. After the cheeky gesture he turned your hand so your palm faced upward. Without any shame he scribbled his number on your palm before leaning forward. Harry leaned in so close you could smell his aftershave and the beer he consumed earlier. Your body tingled in all the right places at his close proximity. He placed a lingering kiss on your cheek before he sent you a last charming smile as he got up on his feet.

"Have a great night, beautiful."

That was the start of a wonderful summer romance.

The first few imagines are short and not exactly overwhelmingly good - I know - but if you bear with me and continue to read, the imagines and the writing does get better at some point. I'm sure you'll enjoy the latest imagines I've written! I'd like to think I at least improved a little in the two years of writing imagines ;-)
