I don't like calling people names. If I'm going to be mad at you, I'm not going to call you a name, man, I would try to bring harm to your life. And I don't like being mad no more, so I be trying to keep it positive.

Long Beach, CAIt has been a week and a half since the car accident. I got out of the hospital the next day with just a broken ankle and a few scratches and bruises. Jaiden didn't though. It all became real that he was gone when I was asked to identify the body. It became even more real when I didn't come home with him or to him. Then it became downright surreal at his funeral yesterday.
When I get asked what happened, like, what caused the accident my heart just drops because it was my fault. I just wish this would stop happening. I wish people around me would quit dying because I can't take it anymore. Jabari, my son, Chip and now Jai. It's like all of the men in my life get taken from me. I'm starting to think it's me.
I looked through my pictures on my phone posting one of me and Chip. It's almost been 3 years since he's passed away. He would be 7 by now. I can imagine him running out screaming Mommy to me now. I can see him still playing little league baseball hitting those balls with ease. I can still see him smiling at me the way Maurice does.
A week ago I thought I was coming to be with you. I guess not. My little angel. My first love. Mommy loves you, my chocolate Chip🍪❤️😇
I looked at the picture as a tear dropped onto my iPhone screen. I wiped it away locking my phone. "Mommy?" I heard Maurice's voice.
I looked up to see him in the doorway rubbing his eyes. "What are you doing up, Reece?" I asked helping him up into my bed.
"Can't sleep. When is Daddy coming home?"
I rubbed over his head of curls saying, "Jai isn't coming back."
"I mean Jai," he said correcting himself. "Why?"
