*A month later it's their 6 month anniversary, he gets up really early to set up a romantic date by the enchanted lake having decided that as it was where there first date occurred it should be where they celebrated six months together, it was a lovely Saturday morning, to Mal's dismay there was to be a tourney game held in honour of the day but as cogsworth and lumiere (cogsworth doing most of it, lumiere just there to help her feel more comfortable, he had taken her under his wing where cogsworth had been a little more hesitant towards her) had reminded her, it was a part of her life now, if she wished to maintain her relationship with Ben permanently then she would have to accept that a lot of her personal life would because public, she didn't have a problem with it but the attention unnerved her a little, she found herself convinced that she'd say or do something wrong, she didn't want to embarrass Ben, she didn't care about herself, she knew some of the less accepting elders, mainly on the council) had been giving him a hard time about his choice in romantic relationships, hey had also given her a gentle reminder that doing this would give her a chance to connect with the people more and help her in giving them a new opinion of her beyond the villain kid one she still found herself keeping with some people, it still unsettled her, one of the main reasons Ben was making sure this was the most perfect day he could possibly make it, once he had finished he headed back to the castle and up to Mal and Evie's room, he knocks lightly and Evie answers*
Evie: come in, M, I'm gonna go find Doug I'll see you at the game okay?
Mal: yeah, see you later
Ben: but Evie you're in your pyjamas
Evie: I don't care
Ben: um okay, good for you?
Evie: happy anniversary guys
Mal: thanks E
*she wanders off to find Doug, in her pyjamas, Ben looks after her confused for a second and then shakes his head and closes the door he comes and leans against one of the posts of her bed while she's still sat on her bed*
Ben: what's wrong with Evie?
Mal: God knows
Ben: happy anniversary

Ben: six months
Mal: it doesn't feel like it's been six months
Ben: what does it feel like then
Mal: I don't know, less than that
Ben: well it definitely has been because I've had six months of the best days of my life, every day I spend with you is the best day of my life
Mal: you know unreel the same
Ben: I love you so much
Mal: I know, I love you too
*as she gets up he pulls her closer for a gentle kiss*
Mal: so what are we doing today then?
Ben: we are going to have lung by the enchanted lake and then the tourney match is this afternoon
Mal: 2 things
Ben: h...okay
Mal:you nearly said hit me didn't you
Ben: yup
Mal: not a good idea was it?
Ben: nope, cuz my girlfriends got a rather large amount of spunk you see and would have taken me too seriously and literally done it
Mal: would she
*she smirks and he does the same back*
Ben: yeah she would
Mal: right anyways, first of all you know if you lose this game it will be like the most embarrassing thing to happen to you for the next like five years, unless you were to do it at something like our year anniversary if and when we get there
Ben: well thanks for that because I wasn't at all aware of that was I? And we will make it there I have no doubt about it
Mal: mhh and second what are we doing this morning then?
Ben: nothing
Mal: come again
Ben: there was loads of stuff people wanted us to do but I said no, I mean I am the king I'm allowed to
Mal: seriously nothing?
Ben: I just want to spend a nice lazy morning snuggled up with you in my arm enjoying every second
Mal: I love you
Ben: though you might like the sound of that
Mal: I like to be lazy
Ben: mhh you're very cute when you're lazy
*he comes around behind her, wraps his arms around her waist and nuzzles into her neck with his chin on her shoulder*

Ben: mhmm

Ben: maybe I have Mal Bertha...umm
Mal: it's cool I don't think I have a last name
Ben: gonna say
Mal: kinda ruined the moment didn't we
*she chuckles and he kisses her cheek*
Ben: it's not the last moment we'll have today
Mal: yeah
Ben: wanna go sit in the gardens for a while?
