after what seemed like forever, the receptionist finally called us back up to lead us to your room.
we got to the third floor and i felt my heart pounding.
then i saw you.
you were across the large room and were hooked up to many machines.
i felt my legs shaking as i sprinted out off the open elevator and towards you.
i closed my eyes and started crying while hugging you.
"i was so worried about you!" i cried with you in my arms.
i felt someone shaking my body back so i opened my eyes again but instead saw i was hugging a very frightened doctor.
"honey are you okay?" he asked.
"wait. but he was just right here." i mumbled to myself with tears in my eyes.
your mom ran up to me with a confused look on her face.
"why did you run out of the elevator? we are on the wrong floor. we are on the third floor, he's on the fifth...."
"but i saw--" i stopped, "i was just--"
"you saw who?" your mom looked at me.
"no one." i lied.
i walked away from the doctor and your mom.
what's wrong with me?
i asked frightened.
i could've sworn i was hugging you.
maybe it's just too good to be true.
i walked in the elevator,
"come on, let's go." my voice cracked as my eyes burned."let's go see my boy." your mom gave me a shaky smile as she got in the elevator and the doors closed.
