Chapter Twenty Four - The Test Of A Life Time

(Mona's Point Of View)

"Mona...I-I might actually be your biological father." He whispers in my ear with a smile in his voice. This is surreal.

"H-How Dad?" I let go of him and look at him confused.

"That girl that waited us or whatever so so happened to be the doctor that check me out. Weird actually. I don't know why you woud have two jobs when you are a doctor, oh well. It's none of my business. I knew she looked familiar. Anyways, I guess a long time ago, a night I do not remember, we kind of had sex you. Well, she told me that she recognized me and after that night she got pregnant and had you. Apparently we were friends, very good friends in high school. I don't remember half of my high school years, but she forgave me. She couldn't raise you by herself, so she put you up for adoption. I didn't know she was pregnant until today. Since I don't remember doing that, we are going to have a parental test for you. Is that okay?"

"Of course!" I hug him tightly, "When exactly are we doing it?"

"I don't know yet. She said she was going to call me I guess."

"Do you know what her name is?"

"Her name is Jordyn." He chuckles, "But I do feel like a jerk for just leaving her like that." He sighs.

"Hey Dad. You brought me into this life, if it was you. I am thankful for that because you are the best Dad ever, remember that."

"I heard that!" Pete exclaims sleepily lifing his head from the car door at us.

"You too Pete." I turn around and hugs Pete tightly. He hugs back.

"Why do you call me Pete anyways? Not Dad?" Crap, I knew this question will come one day.

"Uh, I don't know. I'm sorry." I shy away from him.

"Aw! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you!" He hugs me.

"No, I'm sorry I made you feel bad, Dad!" I look at him and smiles. I kiss his cheek and hug him back.

"Aw!" Everyone exclaims.

"Oh put a pipe in it!" I exclaim.

"Oh dang Mona!" Brendon laughs. I roll my eyes.

*Two Weeks Later*

"You ready Mona?" Dad asks me as we stare at the building.

"More than ever." I answer holding his hand. Yeah, I'm sixteen, but I'm super nervous right now. Don't judge.

"Alright. Here we go." He says. We both take deep sighs and walk into the place. Where were meeted almost instantly by this girl and this other guy. Nice description huh?

"Mona, this is Jordyn. Jordyn, this is Mona. Even though you already knew that." He chuckles.

"Hi Jordyn." I hug her and I don't know why.

"Hey Mona." She hugs back.

"I-I'm sorry..." I let go of her and step away shyly.

"It's okay. Just like your Dad." She smiles at me. It was actually a genuine smile and not a fake one, "Or I hope he is." She looks at dad. Now that I think of it, I am a lot like Dad. Maybe that's why I love him so much, we have that special bond a dad and daughter has. I can't get ahead of myself. Either way, he's still the best dad ever, along with Pete. "Patrick, I already got our information filled out. They already called us back, but I said I had to wait for you two so, we can just go straight back there."

"Ready sweetheart?" Dad asks squeezing my hand a little and shaking ever so slightly. His hand is sweaty.

"Yes. Lets go." With that we went back. The doctor-scientist-person-man lead us into a room. I sits down on the couch and Dad sits next to me, Jordyn sits on the chair beside the couch.

"So, you guys are looking for a parental test today?" The man gets out these cotton swab looking things, only thy weren't.

"Uh, yes." Jordyn says.

"Well," he walks over to me, "Open your mouth please," I do and he takes the swab thing and swabs the inside if my cheek. He does that with all of us. "II'll be back with your results shortly." He smiles and leaves the room.

"I thought we had to have the results mailed to us or something?" I ask.

"Well, I guess so, but I think this place is different?" Dad says looking at Jordyn.

"This place is a laboratory of it's own so, the results will come in, in a few hours. So, I guess we should get to know each other?" She answers.

For the next to hours we got to know each other. Talked about random things. The results haven't came in yet and we are finished with our discussion.

"This is taking forever!" I whine yawning resting my head in Dad's shoulder.

"Tired there sweetie?" He chuckles.

"No." With that I fall asleep.

After a long while, I get woken up by a Dad shaking my softly, "Mona!" He exclaims.

"What!" I jump up startled for now reason. They all laugh.

"The results are here honey." He says holding up an envelop.

"Oh." I walk over to him and hugs him, he hugs back, "No matter what happens, I will always and still love you."

"I know Mona." He smiles, "Same with you."

"Okay! Just open it already Patrick!" Jordyn exclaims.

"Okay, okay!" Dad says starting to open the envelop up. My heart beating out of my chest with every millisecond.
