"One."

Keep it in.

"Two."

Don't make a noise.

"Three."

Don't move.

"Four."

Six more.

"Five."

Five more. Just five.

"Six."

It's almost over.

"Seven."

Dango. They'll get dango after this.

"Eight."

A screech was ripped from Yosuga's lips. She cursed herself as soon as her mouth opened. Just ten lashes. She should've been able to keep it in. This was her punishment. She should've been able to take it.

"Ten as punishment. Ten more for showing weakness." Her father's voice rang in her ears. She swallowed the lump in her throat. Tears would only make it worse.

"You will pay for what you have done." Her sister's voice held clear contempt. Yosuga looked up, and there she was, a sneer on her face. "For what you did to me." Yosuga shook her head.

"I didn't-"

"Shut up!" A lash against her back accented the words. "You killed me! The heir to the clan! The first born! You killed me so you could be Head! Because you knew I was better than you!"

"No-no-I-"

Another lash raked across her back, searing pain in its wake.

Yosuga awoke with a start, quickly finding herself sitting up. Though she nearly crumpled back to the ground when she accidentally applied pressure to her injured hand. She grabbed it, and held it to her heaving chest. Her eyes closed as she shoved the dream to the back of her mind. She was in the clearing, not at home. She was fine. Though that didn't stop her back from burning, and her heart from racing. Cold sweat trickled down her forehead as she gulped.

"Yosu-chan? Are you okay?" She barely heard Naruto ask. Her eyes flickered to his worried expression.

"Y-yeah. I'm fine." She stood up, looking to the ground. "I'm going to go train and stuff."

"...Okay..."

It was after hours and hours of the two practicing their jutsu that Yosuga heard an explosion coming from Naruto's direction. She cancelled her jutsu immediately and stumbled towards him. From all the chakra she was using, it was starting to hurt to walk.

"Naruto? What happened?" She called as she got near, finding Jiraya by him.

"Step two is completed." Naruto weakly told her with a grin as he laid on the ground. Yosuga lifted an eyebrow, crouching down next to him with a sigh.

"You sure did a number on yourself in the process..." She scanned him. "But good job. I knew you could do it." She could have sworn he already completed step two yesterday but didn't bother to question it. Naruto responded with a wide grin.

"Let's do step three!" He said, though Yosuga could tell it hurt for him to move. She shook her head.

"You practically have no chakra left." She chided.
