Dirk's eyes shot open once he heard his front door click, though he was undoubtfully tired, he turned to face the doorway, seeing his elder brother with a smirk on his face."Shades." Dave said, taking his tall body to a kitchen stool, the kitchen being connected to the front room.
Dirk nodded, patting around until he found them, and he put them on. He looked down, spotting a cute sleeping Jake, allowing a small smile to rest on his face.
"What you smilin' at, dude?" Bro questioned, adjusting his ironic shades. Dirk hushed him. His voice barely a whisper.
"Jake's asleep."
Dave rolled his eyes probably, it was hard to see under those shades. He got up, going to, most likely, his room.
~~
Another hour of inside screaming and worrying how to wake Jake up, despite how they only had half an hour until school.
Dirk faced the telly, watching some weird and crappy cartoon that was on, simply because his eyes usually paid more attention to Jake than the program. Strider felt weird doing it, but he thought it would be appreciated and taken as a compliment. He brushed it off.
"..Dirk?..." Jake asked, his voice raspy and thick with his accent.
Dirk's head clicked towards the boy, a questioning look on his face.
"Hm?"
"What time is it?"
"7:30am"
"WHAT?!" Jake shouted, jumping up out of him seat, he looked a Dirk. "Why didn't you wake me up? I mean, I feel less sleepier than usual, but I have to get home and get changed still!"
"Sorry, you looked so peaceful."
Jake rolled his eyes, giving Dirk a hug goodbye, picking up his things and thanked Strider for the good night, before exiting the house. May I mention the extremely awkward part where Dirk put his hand out for a handshake, only to have his poor hand crushed by jake's chest (or just below).
As soon as Jake left, Dirk got ready himself, feeling the humid weather outside when Jake opened the door, he shoved on a black tank top that had his signature hat sign on it. Little did he know, Jake was wearing something similar and it was completely unplanned.
Once everything was cleaned or put on, Dirk ran out of the door, making his way to school. He lived fairly close, a few roads to go down and that was it. As the school came into view, Dirk felt like something wasn't right, something was going to happen and he would never know.
~~
Jake was surprisingly out of breath by the time he made it to his locker. His tank top was creased slightly, his shorts were making their way up his ass, and his feet were aching as he sweated like the fucking Zahhaks. He adjusted his shorts comfortably, wiping the sweat off of his forehead as he unlocked his locker to allow numerous notes to fly out of his locker. He picked one up, flabbergasted.
'hey bouy, you betta glubbin stop hangin with the gaybie dirk before i make ya.'
Hey, how about it, an empty threat. Jake shoved all the notes, all besides Meenah's, into the bin besides the clump of lockers his was in, ignoring what Meenah said. She was probably just jealous she can't have as cool as a friend as Dirk. Jake frowned.
"English."
Jake freaked as the man spoke, chucking the crumpled note into the air, only for the blond he knew and adored caught it.
"What's this, English?" Dirk asked, beginning to unravel it. Jake snatched it, panicking. He couldn't have Dirk concerned for him, he can't do that.
"A love letter! Yeah, yeah, a love letter." Jake smiled nervously, looking around. Dirk raised an eyebrow.
"To who?" His voice was laced with curiosity.
"Uh-uh, it's a, uhm, draft note for, um, Jane. Jane Crocker." Jake stated awkwardly, mentally double facepalming.
Roxy was just about to say a sweet hello to Dirk when she overhead the exact moment of Jake saying the love letter for Jane. She squealed, allowing English to become aware of her presence.
"OMG JAKEY!!!" Roxy squeaked, running up to Jake with a super large grin. She hugged him. "You love Janey, that's so cute!! Don't tell her by note, tell her in person. Can I tell her?! Okay, everyone chill!! Jake, this is so expected though to be honest. I'm positive Janey likes you back!!"
"Uh, ahem, really?" Jake questioned, unamused and ashamed of his mistake.
"You okay Jake? You look a little ashamed or something? Has something happened?" Dirk asked, placing an arm around Jake's shoulders. "Man to man stuff, y'know." Jake shook his head. "No, not at all. Just a little shocked Jane, uh, might like me back." He gulped.
Well isn't this fantastic.
