"Hey Dirk," Jake spoke, his tone flat. "I need some time to think by myself, so I'd appreciate if you gave me some space for a week or so. It's not you, seriously, chap; you've been amazing. Jade's just made me realise something, and I need to think it over alone." He hung up on the voicemail.
English sat on his bed, staring at his phone, looking over every conversation he had on text with Dirk. The way how Dirk was always grammatically correct, how he typed rather short sentences time-to-time. Every selfie they shared, Strider's blonde hair was always perfect, a smirk would always be glued to his face, along with those dashing shades of his. His shades. HIS SHADES.
"WHAT IS HE HIDING BEHIND THOSE SHADES?!" Jake thought aloud. "Multi-coloured eyes? Is he blind? Does he have a lazy eye? Or has he just got sensitive eyes?" English stood up with a pout, swiping through every picture he had of Dirk. From mugshots saved from Snapchat; to proper pictures of him taken with his permission, but no matter how hard the green eyed boy looked, he couldn't see behind his best friend's god damn shades.
Eventually, he gave up on the whole 'eye situation', and focused on the real reason he didn't want to see Dirk for a bit: his little crush on him. Or that was what he was trying to figure out whether he did or not.
"We almost kissed..." Jake murmured. "But I'm not gay, so why was I going for it?" He sighed.
His heart raced at the thought of him and Dirk together. He couldn't help but imagine himself and his mate cuddling and having the cheeky kiss here and there while watching Avatar. Psh, but Dirk could never replace Jake's everlasting crush on Neytiri.

DING DING DING!
Kids and teens rushed out of their classrooms once the bell signaled it was the end of the school day. Seeing a mass amount off children gathering in the hallways, Dirk's stubborn teacher allowed his class to leave with a scowl.
Dirk squinted at his phone, seeing he had received a voicemail, he placed his phone to his ear with a raised eyebrow.
By the time it reached the second sentence, Strider had already put the phone down. Great, it must have been the whole, "next time don't interrupt our little close makeout session", sort of situation. Dirk figured he'd tried to hard with Jake. Tried to hard to figure his feelings for him, he means.
For the period of time, Dirk had hung out with Jake, he passionately felt that there was some sort of spark between them, romantic or not.
Basically, what Dirk concluded, is that Jake hates him right now and that's final.
Strider frowned, standing at the front of the school, staring at various people here and there who simply pulled a rude looked and directed their attention to something else. He turned, jumping in surprise as he saw Aranea practically trying to butt rape him. Okay, maybe not that, but she was extremely close.
"Can I help you?" Dirk asked.
"Rough time with Jake, hm? I understand; he's kind of weird." Aranea smiled. "He's fairly o8livious half the time to, I say it's time to move onto girls."
"Aranea, I don't fancy him, I don't-"
"You don't THINK," she grinned, raising both eyebrows as she adjusted her glasses. "Dirk, after what he did to Meenah, don't you think he's got enough attention, let alone receiving sexual tension from you." She smirked. "He doesn't deserve half the things he's got. Especially you. You've lead him to 8asically destroy Jane's heart and crush Meenah's neck. I'd defriend him no matter how much it hurt him to have zero friends."
"No, Aranea, you don't understand. Meenah lead him to all of the problems, don't turn it around and blame it on me. He doesn't have zero friends be-" Dirk was interrupted once again.
"How a8out you, Jane and Roxy come hang with me some day. I think another girl is just what you need to slap some sense into your silly head. I'll meet you with Roxy and Jane after school tomorrow." Aranea began to walk away.
"They're not gonna go."
"They already are." She continued walking away.
Dirk paused for a moment before sighing, whispering something along the lines of "you win, Serket" under his breath.
