"Ladies and gentlemen," Aranea spoke, her fingers twiddling behind her back as she spoke into the microphone, "just in case you aren't aware, our dear old friend Jake English is standing in this very hall with you right now." Her voice was laced with mischievousness.
Everyone looked around until all eyes were on the poor brunette boy, who was just about to leave, causing him to feel small and threatened. His hand subconsciously slipped into Dirk's own hand, which left the blond red faced and speechless.
Ah, there's a chunk of information your missing, isn't there? REWIND.
~~
It was 4PM sharp when Jake heard a stern knock on the door, which he opened in a matter of seconds. The nervous boy lead his blond haired friend inside with a grin as he adjusted his bow tie to get Dirk's attention.
"So you are going to this party, I see," Dirk smiled, admiring the cute grey jacket, "I'm glad to see you're finally going to become sociable." English rolled his eyes.
"Say, chum, what time does this jolly old party actually start?" The green eyed boy inquired.
"In half an hour," Dirk dusted himself off slightly, "Ends at 2AM." Jake pulled a shocked face, yet he wasn't actually as surprised due to the fact it was the party of the year. The party no one would ever forget about. Oh God, the pressure.
The two teens giggled and chatted like overzealous girls until the clock turn quarter to five. Jake acknowledged the time, looking at Dirk. "We should get going, we're already fifteen minutes late."
Soon enough, they were making the trip to the large hall on foot, which took them twenty minutes of playful banter and slight flirting from Strider's side that Jake was oblivious of.
Music boomed from inside of the thick walls as teens spilled from each doorway. Groups of teens hung outside, various couples practically devouring one another's face.
Jake and Dirk stepped inside, greeting other characters who were surprised at English's presence, yet somewhat welcoming due to Dirk's outside of school reputation. (The fact he owns a god damn katana) However, on the inside, Jake felt the un-belongingneess and the fake comfortableness. He felt like the elephant in the room.
Ten minutes into the party and Jake already had a drink in his hand, unlike Dirk who remained sober. Roxy approached, and you could almost see the comical drunk bubbles emerging from her intoxicated self. She swung her arm around Jake's shoulder, giving him a slight smooch and tapping Dirk's chest in a flirty manner as she said she didn't expect to see either of them here.
"Yes, well, Jake and I thought it was a good idea to get on people's good sides before school in a couple of days," Dirk smiled plainly, removing Roxy's exploring hand, "Roxy, you're a little too drunk; you're trying to touch up Jake."
"I aaammmm???" She playfully whined, "Oopsie! Sorry, Jacky!" She squinted her eyes, "I mean Jakey!" Roxy corrected herself with a hiccup and a giggle, soon making a fool of herself by nearly poking someone's eye out by pointing in the direction of her best friend Jane. "Jane is with Aranea, over there! Janey said she's not that keen on spider girl anymoooooore!!! But shhhhh..." The blonde whispered, placing her index finger over her lip.
"We'll keep it on the quiet, Rox, go enjoy yourself," Dirk pushed her lightly along, to which she smiled and skipped away with a drink in her hand.
Time ticked on furiously fast, it was now twenty-five past eleven, few people's curfews. Teenagers continued dancing, drinking, making out and allowing their raging hormones to take over. Damara had flashed her boobs three times to Rufioh already, and Mituna had near enough succeeded escaping his clothes. Well damn.
"I think we should leave now, chap, Jade and Grandma wish for me home before one and I'm not really in the mood to party now that I've seen a couple of erections, a pair of tits and a half naked man." Jake frowned, tugging on Dirk's black vest as he nudged him towards the door.
"Hey, Aranea, Jake is abo+ut to+ leave," Porrim notified the smart girl, who gasped, quickly pushing past teens of her age to get onto the stage that had a perfectly placed working microphone in the middle of the stage. And that brings us to the top few paragraphs you read at the beginning of this chapter. Just in case your lazy and can't be bothered to refresh your memory, here:
"Ladies and gentlemen," Aranea spoke, her fingers twiddling behind her back as she spoke into the microphone, "just in case you aren't aware, our dear old friend Jake English is standing in this very hall with you right now." Her voice was laced with mischievousness.
Everyone looked around until all eyes were on the poor brunette boy, who was just about to leave, causing him to feel small and threatened. His hand subconsciously slipped into Dirk's own hand, which left the blond red faced and speechless.
"Yes, there they are!" Aranea chirped, "oh Jake, why are you leaving so soon?" She smirked, getting out her phone and switching it on. "All of you, get out your phones, now!" Everyone did so; it was like Meenah was back in power and they could do nothing about it. Dirk and Jake both pulled out their phones with hesitation, Jake gulped.
"Well, all know how Jake 8roke my darling 8est friend's neck, correct? How he 8roke Meenah's neck!!!!!!!! Yes?" Aranea screamed angrily, a fire so bright in her eyes it was blinding, "Well here's pay8ack!" DING. DING. DING. DING. Numerous ringtones echoed in the hall, it was silent until everyone erupted with laughter. Jake frowned looking at Dirk who cracked a smile.
"I haven't received anything, what did she send, Strider?" Jake asked curiously, grabbing Dirk's phone to see a picture with a caption.
(((insert embarrassing aranea pic)))
"Shouldn't have 8een such a 8itch, Jake!!!!!!!! You really think you're that sexy."
The hall laughed at Aranea who asked what was happening, people in the crowd before her snickered as she looked at her own self posing in a suggestive way. She lit up with a large blush, running off the stage into another room that was possibly locked off to other teens.
"Wait, what? Why would she send that?" Jake questioned, snickering and raising an eyebrow at Dirk, who smirked.
"Let's just say Feferi is a smart young lady." Dirk smiled, waving at the black haired girl who stood by the door they were soon to leave from.
Only days ago did Meenah hatch this fantastic plan from her hospital bed with her sleeping sister by her side. Feferi would visit her any day she could, and if Aranea wasn't already, sleep overnight in the hospital to keep her company. She was a pleasant younger sister that was also an amazing actress. Meenah and Aranea would usually Snapchat each other and talk to one another face to face about their plans, sometimes ignoring the fact Feferi existed.
One morning, Feferi was waking up from her sleep in the hospital chair beside Meenah when she heard the plan of using a picture of Jake and Dirk near enough kissing one another, being the lovely angel she is, Feferi did what was right and informed Dirk about the entire ordeal, and then went on to tell her boyfriend Sollux what to do. With a simple few hacks, he changed stuff around and made sure the link address to the picture of Dirk and Jake had been swapped with another link in the system, which would confuse the pictures and send out Aranea's one instead of Jake's. Though it would look like she was sending the correct picture, it was disguised as the right picture when in reality, it was the wrong picture. Smart, I know.
Jake mouthed and very big thank you to Feferi, who soon disappeared into the night in a wink.
"You're still holding my hand, Jake," Dirk raised an eyebrow. Jake let go, apologising quickly as a blush decorated his lightly freckled cheeks. "Don't worry, I don't mind." Strider flirted, and once again, with a slight huff from Jake, their fingers intertwined as they soon left the party. How they didn't kiss each other in the heat of the moment, I don't know.
The party pooper was secretly the party pleaser.
(Merry Christmas yall >;])
