For days had it been going on, a couple of weeks, actually. After that date, Jake acted like he was generally in love with Crocker, only to please her. Despite Dirk knowing how fake the relationship really was, he couldn't help but feel jealous. Maybe it was because Jane was constantly hanging around Jake and Dirk never got time alone with the boy. He ignored the feeling half the time, but spent the other half thinking why he was jealous.

Jane couldn't have been happier, but she felt like something was missing. She adored Jake, but she felt like Jake just didn't fully adore her back the way she wanted him to.

It was Saturday today, and Jake was busy with Jade. Jane couldn't wait another day to ask how Jake really felt, so what if Dirk knew? Jane pulled her phone out of her back pocket, sitting down on her bed. She found Dirk's contact and rung him, him picking up straight away.

"Crocker," he spoke. "What's hanging?"

"I need to talk to you about Jake," Jane stated. "Since you're his best friend."

Dirk gulped for some reason. "Spill."

"I feel like he's not telling me something and it's damaging our relationship... Has he told you anything?" Jane inquired.

Dirk wasn't sure what to say, he looked around awkwardly. "Jane, look, I have to go, sorry I can't answer your question." He ended the call.

Jane was surprised when he hung up on her. He was hiding something.

"Oi, Strider!" A muffled shout came from outside. Dirk walked over to his bedroom window, opening it only to spot Jake and Jade. "I knew you'd be home!"

Dirk rolled his eyes. He looked at Jake. "You need to tell Jane." He closed the window.

"Tell Jane what, Jake?" Jade asked, peering at her cousin with narrowed eyes.

Jake began to sweat. Jade would force him to do it, or do it herself. He couldn't tell her the truth, could he?

Dirk still looked out the window, feeling slightly sorry for Jake. He traveled down to his front door, slipping open said front door to peer out.

"How about you two come in and discuss, Bro's not home." Dirk smiled.

Jake nodded, taking Jade's hand as they walked indoors. Dirk sat them both down on the couch as he set himself on the arm of the chair.

"Well..." Jake gulped as he began. "Jade, you got to help me, please! I made the excuse of..." He looked at Dirk for reassurance. "Well, I used Jane as an excuse to hide something. What do I do?"

Jake later explained how he faked a love note, frowning as he spoke. The guilt was near enough breaking Jake every second he spoke.

"Tell her you aren't feeling it anymore, tell her you're sorry. Just don't let her down harshly." Jade smiled, patting her cousin's back reassuringly.

Dirk pulled a face at the two's bond. Compared to him and Bro, even stranger's had a better bond than them, sadly.

"Never do it over the phone." Dirk spoke, causing Jake and Jade to look over to him.

"Good point." Jade said.

It's now Monday, and Jake is be forced by Dirk to tell Jane the truth.

In fact, it was before the first lesson and the gang had just got together. Jane kissed Jake's cheek with a small grin as Dirk clenched his fist.

"Jake, don't you have something to tell Jane?" Dirk asked with a slight grin.

Jake gulped. "Uh, yes."

Jane looked up at Jake, of course because English was taller. "What is it, hon?" She smiled sweetly at him.

"Jane..." He choked on his own words, looking down. "I'm so sorry! I- I used you as an excuse, a- and it went on too far... I'm so, so, so sorry, Janey! That note... It wasn't a love note. Jane, you're a gorgeous girl who deserves better anyway, I do apologise..." He sniffed, a tear dribbling down his cheek. He genuinely meant it.

Jane's smile disappeared, and she looked over to Roxy who was just as shocked.

"Wait? Whaaaaat?" Roxy asked, literally confused.

"You made me an excuse? Jake how could you!?" She shouted, storming off. Roxy soon followed, eyeing Jake.

"Oh, Strider! I'm so sorry I had to bother you in the first place! I give up, I really do!" He cried. Dirk shoved a hand around his shoulder, pulling him in for a hug that Jake soon refused.

"No! Dirk, you can't forgive me! What I did was terrible..." Jake tried to walk away, only to be pulled back by Dirk.

"At least tell me what the note said." Dirk spoke with a harsh tone.

Jake stopped, looking back. He had tears overflowing in his eyes.

"I can't hangout with you anymore."
And he ran.

"Is he crying, Meenah?" Aranea asked, tapping Meenah to distract her from Damara's cold stare. Meenah turned, wacking Aranea and everyone around with her braids.

"What? Holy glub he is. He's listened to us. No need for plan B, haha." She smirked.

What a great school.
