Sleep obviously wasn't going to come easy tonight because my tossing and turning was frequent. I couldn't seem to shut my eyes for more than 5 minutes.

Glancing over, I saw that Nas dead sleep with not a care in the world. I sat up in the bed before deciding to get up to drink some warm milk. That always did the trick for me.

When walking outside of the room, I noticed that Bam wasn't in the living room on the couch. I sighed at the thought. I hoped that we weren't kicking him out of his own house.

I skipped on over to the kitchen and poured me a glass of milk before placing it in the microwave. Just as I took my cup out, I heard keys insert the lock.

Bam walked in the loft with a hoodie over his head as usual. When his eyes met mine, I saw that his eyes were red.

"You okay?" I asked him.

He removed his headphones and arched his brows. "What you doing up?"

Before I could answer, the microwave stopped and he nodded as if he already knew. "Nevermind. Can't sleep again..."

"Yeah. What's your excuse?" I questioned with concern as Bam pulled his jacket over his head and tossed it the couch. He entered the kitchen and took a bottle of water from the fridge.

"Went for a run."

"At the 2 in the morning?" Bam shrugged his arms and left out of the kitchen to head to his sleeping spot.

"Yes, mom. Anything else you need to know?"

I already knew this probably had to do with whatever makes him shake in his sleep at night. It was rare that I ever actually him rest.

"Bad dream again, I'm guessing," I said as I followed behind him to the couch with my milk in hand.

He furiously shook his head and sighed as he took a squig of his water. "Nah, not tonight," he said quietly like something else was on his mind.

"Wanna talk about it?" I offered even though he doesn't like to open up.

"Not really. Anyway, you grilling me but why are you wide awake? You worked like 14 hours yesterday."

I rolled my eyes at him and grabbed the remote to turn on the television. He looked at me like I was crazy. "Um, who said I want your company?"

"Oh, you bout to try to go to sleep then." I said with a half smile already knowing the answer.

"Whatever," Bam sighed before taking off his shoes and staring at the t.v.

"You never did tell me how the date with second girl went the other day. I need details." I sat up before taking a sip of my milk.

Bam smirked, but it quickly fell from his face. "Sam's cool."

"Damn, that's it?"

"She cool and thankfully she not crazy like the first girl you hooked me up with. Shorty was next level psycho."

I cackled softly trying not to wake Nasir. "Technically, I didn't hook y'all up. Y'all personalities matched, so you attract crazy."

He looked up at me with dry face. "If you say so. And why you not out here dating? I can't be the only one going on these damn dates, Laurie."

"Ain't nobody checking for me and I'm not checking for nobody. Case closed."

I was lying through my teeth on part of that. Dudes are interested in dating me, but I haven't given anybody the time of day. I don't think I can give a man my whole heart right now, but I do miss just going on dates.
