Standing between the two men as they stared each other down was too tense for me. I had to put my hand on Bam's chest and nudge him back a bit.

"I got it..."

He nodded and stood back with his arms crossed.

"Christian, I told you where Nas is for the night. If you would like to go to my dad's house to see him, be my guest."

My estranged husband furiously shook his head and continued to glare Bam down. "You got our son being taken care of by somebody else while you playing house now. Are you fucking this lame ass nigga?"

I rolled my eyes. "No, I'm not and if I was that's not your damn business. Now, please leave Christian!"

He hopped forward on his crippled leg and I felt Bam moving forward as well. "Since you wanna play this game, I'm filing for full custody. I can't have my kid around this shit while you got a revolving door men."

I cackled angrily. "Do it! I dare you. If you cared so much about your son then you would've came to his first basketball game. You would've took him for the weekend like you lied and told him you would. So, please get the fuck out of my face."

I stomped away from the door before I got the urge to slap him across the face and went to the kitchen to get a drink.

"Don't away when I'm talking to you," I heard him yell.

"Time for you to leave crippled man." I cackled at Bam's comment in the midst of getting teary eyed.

I heard nothing but mumbled words exchanged at the door. I took a break from ear hustling to get a sip of wine that I had bought a few days ago.

"Hey, you okay?" I quickly turned, startled by Bam's voice. "I scared you?" He slightly chuckled.

"No, I just thought you were still at the door. What did he say?" I asked as I took another sip of wine.

"Aside from him threatening me like I'm not an officer of the law, he said nothing. Anyway, back to you. Why you crying?"

Bam walked pass me to get a paper towel and handed it to me. "Don't let that nigga get to you. He just mad that you don't need him anymore."

I wiped under my eyes. "I guess. I'm just tired of him coming down on me for everything as if I don't already blame myself for a lot of shit." The more I talked, the more I teared up.

"Shh. Stop crying," Bam whispered to me as he pulled me in for an embrace.

My face rested on his chest probably soaking on his fresh shirt. "Look, you're an amazing woman. Don't ever let him make you think otherwise. You do your best and that's good enough."

I sighed deeply and shook my head. "I'm such a fucking crybaby," I mumbled.

I felt his body shake as he chuckled a bit. I pushed my head back to look up at him while still holding on for dear life. "It's not that funny," I whined.

"It is." Bam removed strands of my hair from my face to behind my ear. "It's all good though."

The more I looked up at him, I was seeing something different. No clue what it was, but he caught me staring. "What's wrong? I don't trust when you're quiet for too long."

"I'm not sure--you're a good guy, Bam."

His brows furrowed and he nodded with a half smile. "Okay,  thanks. Where's that coming from?"

"Just thought you should know." I found my eyes shifting from his eyes to his lips. Again, no idea what the hell was going through my mind. I let my embrace from around his waist loosen before completely letting him go.
