"Lauren, you good? You've been out of it lately..." I heard Gloria say as I was doodling on the newspaper in front of me.

I sighed and looked up. "Yeah, just tired I guess," I casually lied to her, trying to avoid holding a conversation. It had been 3 weeks since Bam left and he hadn't given me the time of day. He'd send me straight to voicemail whenever I called him. All I know from what Skylar told me is that he had been helping Tasha out with BJ's recovery.

Meanwhile, I couldn't get Christian to leave me alone. I get annoyed with myself just thinking back because I've never gotten that drunk to the point that I black out.

"Come take a break with me while it's slow in here today," Glo offered, tugging on my scrubs.

"I've damn near been on break all day..."

Glo playfully rolled her eyes. "Well, bitch...come take another one with me."

I got up from my chair and followed behind her down the hall. "Ok, we're on break. Now what?"

"Talk, because if you come in here one more day with a damn frown on your face I know something," she scolded me.

I put my head down before speaking, embarrassed to reveal my fuck up. "Brandon's not talking to me anymore and all I can think about is how much I miss him."

Gloria cackled softly. "Girl, please...he came in here a few days ago asking if you were here. So, y'all will get it together I'm sure."

I surprised by her admission. "Looking for me? I haven't seen him in like 3 weeks..."

"3 weeks! Bitch, I thought you meant y'all were having a lil argument. That's a damn break up, Laurie."

"Gee, thanks," I said sarcastically.

"What y'all beefing about anyway?" she inquired and I hesitated on telling her.

"I slept with Christian."

Glo's face said everything. She had the same reaction that Sky did when I told her...puzzled as hell. "Don't look at me like that."

"Sorry, girl. It's j-just I'm shocked that you even went back to that because as far I know, you can't stand that man."

"Apparently, my drunk mind and sober mind were not on one accord." I looked down at my watch and saw that I had to go pick up Nas from my dad's house, so that he could make it to his last basketball game of the season on time.

"Wow. That's crazy. All I can say is to keep your head up because it takes a lot to even own up to shit like that. My ass would've been in denial until further notice."

I shrugged and sighed. "I guess. Well, let me go clock out Glo. I gotta go pick my baby for this game."

She nodded in understanding and cracked a smile. "Okay, tell my lil boo I say hey."

"Will do," I said walking away to get my things to leave.

"Why you so quiet today, baby? Nervous about the game?" I questioned Nasir as we were riding in a dead silence to the recreation center.

He quickly shook his head. "Mama, please...I'm the leading scorer on the team. We got this."

I chuckled at his sudden cockiness. "Well excuse me then, superstar. Why so quiet then?"

"I'm just wondering is Bam coming to the game. He said if my team made it to the Championship that he'd be here for it. I haven't seen him at the last 3."

I sighed knowing that I was responsible for Bam's disappearance. Nas and him had formed a bond that I hope doesn't dissolve because of our issues. "He probably just been busy with work. It's not easy catching the bad guys."
