•THOUGHTS•
Katie sat up slowly—a heavy wave of vertigo hitting her before she scrunched her eyes shut and shook her head, hoping to shake the feeling. It seemed to linger as she opened her eyes and glanced around the small unfamiliar room—abandoned entirely except for her, and empty of all furniture.
Confusion crossed her features, causing her brows to furrow down. She swallowed thickly as she looked around, taking in the chipping paint and lifting floorboards. Her sight landed on the singular door before she rose to her feet. She crossed the room and reached for the door, pulling it open slowly. She peaked her head around the corner which looked out into a dim hallway—the hall appearing to be in similar shape as the room.
She couldn't help but wonder, how she ended up here . . .
However, she wasn't left wondering long when she heard the faint sound of voices down the hall. They reached her ears easily, but they were muffled and she was unable to make out their words.
It didn't take much for her to settle on the decision and slip out of the room. She made sure to stay quiet as she inched down the hall. She peered into each room she passed. However, she froze when she came upon what looked to be a bedroom—occupying a lone person.
