The party itself was a hit, but the aftermath was not. Half of the school was sick, unfortunately hang overs and colds do not mix well together. I had the blankets pulled up to my chin and my laptop resting on my stomach acting as a heat pack while I watched Netflix. I was running out of cold & flu tablets and I was ready to give up on life when I heard three quiet knocks on my door,
"Come in," I sniffled out. The door slowly opened and a stranger popped their head in, I sat up immediately and suddenly regretted it when my head began pounding, "Who the fuck are you?"
"I, I live down the hall from you," The small girl stuttered, I raised my eyebrows, "I heard you coughing last night and I thought you might like some medication," She stepped further into my room and closed the door behind her, I extended my arm out and she passed the box to me,
"What's the catch?" I asked,
"No catch. Your coughing woke me up a few times so I thought I may as well help you," She smiled, and pulled my legs up to my chest,
"I'm Elizabeth," I grinned softly,
"Max," She stuck her hand out for me to shake, mine met hers and she shook it a few times,
"Is shaking hands now a common thing?" I asked, she chuckled softly,
"What?"
"I mean, it's happened to me twice in the last three days since I've been back," I explained,
"Oh," She laughed, "You're just meeting all the cool people,"
"Ha ha, yes, a guy wearing a shirt with a shitty science pun on it," I sniffed, "The definition of cool,"
"You must've met Warren," She grinned, "He's a really cool guy," She paused, "Except for the shitty science puns." It was silent for a few seconds before she spoke again, "Did you go to the Vortex party?"
"Yeah," I nodded, "Did you?" She shook her head quickly,
"No. Parties aren't usually my thing,"
"You should come to the next one! You would totally fit in," I smiled, she grinned back at me,
"Well, I, uh, I hope you get better soon," She stood up and stepped towards the door,
"Thank you so much for the medicine," She smiled and then left the room. Leaving me alone again, I slumped into my pillows and pulled my laptop over my stomach and went onto Facebook, I scrolled down my newsfeed for a few minutes until I came across a post written by Victoria linking to a video, I clicked the link and it sent me to a video of a girl at a party making out with a bunch of guys, titled "Kate's Gone Wild!!!"

I rolled my eyes and looked back down at my screen and the girls face was shown on the video, I quickly paused it. Was that the girl that Nathan and I helped? Was this before she came stumbling out of the party? I slammed my laptop shut and shoved it into my bag before I left my dorm, slamming the door being me. I rushed out of the dorms and made my way into the boys dorms, I immediately regretted it once I walked in and there were about 20 pairs of eyes on me,
"Who are you here to bang?" One of them called out,
"You're fucking disgusting," I replied before walking up to the map on the wall and searching for Nathan's room. Once I had found it I quickly made my way there and knocked loudly until he opened the door, his face dropped once he saw me,
"What the fuck are you doing here?" He had massive bags under his eyes and was most definitely hung over. I stepped around him and entered his room, I was taken back by the amount of pictures on the walls and the rather large projector screen. I took out my laptop, placed it on his desk and opened it, showing him the video, he watched it intently and I paused when it showed Kate's face,
"Is this the girl you took to the hospital?" I asked him quickly. He rolled his eyes and shook his head,
"What the fuck are you doing here, Elizabeth?" He asked while he flopped back down onto his bed, I sat on the end, it was hard to read his expressions in the dark but I could only imagine he was angry.
"What happened to her?" I asked,
"It was her first party, maybe that's what she's like when she gets drunk," He dismissed, I nodded,
"You're right," I sniffed and let out a small cough.
"You know," He started, "The reason why I didn't invite you into my fucking room is because I didn't want to get fucking sick,"
"You used to be so much fun, Nathan."
"At least I'm not fucking crazy," He replied, I rolled my eyes,
"The only reason you're not in the hospital at this very second is because your dad would like to keep the Prescott reputation the tiniest bit sane," I crossed my arms over my chest, "You and I are just as crazy as each other," He chuckled lightly then his eyes quickly widened, he sat forward and grabbed my wrist,
"Who the fuck have you been beating up?" His fingers ran over my knuckles and I quickly tried to pull them away as I squirmed in pain, "Christ, Elizabeth what the fuck happened?" I ripped my wrists away from his grasp,
"I have to go," I mumbled as I grabbed my laptop and shoved it back into my bag and swiftly walked towards the door, Nathan let out a sigh,
"Want to get high?" I turned around and he was standing up holding a lit joint between his fingers. I rolled my eyes and placed my bag on the floor and walked over to him,
"You sure know how to win them over, Prescott,"
"Only you, Martin,"

My eyes scanned over everything in his room at least three times before one of us spoke again,
"How do you do it?" He asked, his voice slightly raspy from the smoke,
"Do what?"
"How do you hide how fucking crazy you are?" He asked, my eye brows scrunched together, "I've seen you when you've been off your meds and holy shit, it blows my fucking mind that you can hide that," I shrugged my shoulders and handed the joint to him,
"It's just second nature now, I guess. I had to at least pretend I was getting better so they'd let me out of that shit hole," I exhaled the smoke and looked over at him, his face was blank then he looked at me,
"So, you're not better?" I let out a laugh,
"Fuck no. That place made me loose my fucking mind. You're lucky your dad hasn't sent you there," It was silent for a few moments while Nathan inhaled the smoke, the burning ember lighting up his face for a brief second so I could see his emotions, his eyebrows were furrowed and his eyes squinted.
"Why were you with Frank?" He asked as he passed the joint back to me,
"He's an old friend. I hadn't told him where I was. He thought I fucked off with Rachel to L.A," Nathan laughed and I sighed, "He thought I was Rachel,"
"Everyone thinks you're Rachel, Elizabeth." He paused, "Frank's bad news, you shouldn't hang out with him. He's not good for you," I scoffed lightly,
"And you are?"
