As soon as the clock hit 12 I was rushing around Nathan's room collecting my things,
"Where are you going?" He asked as he sat, shirtless, on the end of his bed and lit a cigarette,
"To class," I walked over to him and grabbed the stick from between his fingers and put it between my lips, breathing in the smoke,
"No, you're not," He said grabbing my wrist and taking the smoke back. I backed off and pulled my bag over my shoulder, he stood up quickly, "At least let me walk you,"
"Never said you couldn't," I smiled as we walked out of his dorm together, "Don't you have class to go to anyway?" He laughed and shook his head,
"I don't have to go," I scoffed and rolled my eyes. He pushed open the door for me as we stepped outside,
"Such a gentleman," I laughed, looking up at him. He quickly stopped smiling as he looked around at his surroundings,
"What the fuck," He whispered, I looked away from his confused face, a group of people were scattered up on the lawns, all seeming to be facing the dorm buildings. Some of them were covering there eyes, all of them were shocked. Nathan and I looked up, walked towards them and followed their line of sight, "Holy shit," Nathan whispered,
"Oh my god," I gasped, we made our way down the steps and stood near the front of the crowd.
"I can't believe she would do this," Some one whispered from behind us, I couldn't take my eyes off of her. She was standing on the edge of the building, so fragile, so small and so empty. Her life was hanging by a single thread, one step back and it would be over. Maybe that's what she wanted. She edged closer towards the ledge, people gasped, Nathan and I took a step back, his hand instinctively landing on the small of my back. I tried not to look, I was hoping just by standing here she would notice how much we cared. It wouldn't happen. She was already up there. Time seemed to slow down, her foot stepped over the edge and her body came falling down like a bag of bricks sinking through the ocean, she landed with a hard thud on the ground, warm blood covered my face. Nathan quickly wrapped me up in his chest so I didn't have to look at what Kate had become. My eyes had squeezed so tightly shut that I couldn't even dare to open them. People around me screamed, crying erupted and multiple phones were raised to call the ambulance, and disgustingly, I heard cameras clicking. Nathan slowly guided me back to his dorm, my eyes were glued shut as he sat me down on his couch. He began to wipe the blood off my face with a tissue, I slowly peeled my eyes open, his face was mere centimetres away from mine. Blood was splattered across his face, my throat clenched and tears rose to my eyes as I looked at her blood. Once he had cleaned the blood, he began wiping my tears,
"Don't let this take you back," He mumbled, his voice foggy and vague, I nodded softly, trying to push the memory of what had just happened as far away as I possibly could. His phone started vibrating in his pocket, he took it out and rolled his eyes, "Wells wants to see me. I'll be right back," He kissed my forehead before quickly leaving his room. I slowly lowered my head onto the couch and started to scream into the fabric, making my screams muffled and quiet. My nails dug into my arms as I tried to feel anything but the immense pain that was rushing through my lungs and throat.

Two deaths, one year? No wonder you're so fucked up. I hope your father pays for your expenses at the hospital this time, bitch.

Nathan came back into his room an hour later, I hadn't moved, still lying on the couch with my nails digging into my skin. He slammed the door behind him, his face was red with anger, his fists balled at his side. I sat up,
"That bitch!" He stuttered, "She blamed me for what Kate did!" Nathan began to shout, my mouth opened in shock,
"Who?" I whispered,
"Max fucking Caulfield!" He stood there in complete rage, "Kate stood up on that roof on her own! Fuck," He spat, "She said I had fucking drugged her," My heart dropped,
"Wait, what?" Nathan sat next to me on the couch,
"At the party, when Kate was drunk. Max said I had drugged Kate which is why she acted the way she did," My fists balled in anger,
"Did you?"
"No! Fuck, Elizabeth!" Nathan shouted, I scooted away from him, "You don't believe that bitch do you?" I shook my head,
"No," I trailed off,
"That sounded like a question," He remarked angrily,
"I just," I stuttered, "Rachel," He stood up quickly,
"You're fucking kidding me right, Elizabeth?" He shouted, I looked down, "You know I didn't! You know what? Get the fuck out," He pointed towards the door,
"Nathan," I sighed, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have bought her up,"
"You're right. You shouldn't have," He took a deep breath in and his hands began to shake, he sat down next to me on his unmade bed. I didn't know if I were to leave now, he was slowly calming down, his breath hot against his legs and fanning over mine. We sat together awkwardly,
"Are you okay?" He sat there I silence, I waited impatiently for him to speak,
"I lied to you," He sighed, "He made me do it again," My stomach dropped, "With Kate."
