I didn't know what to say to him to break him out of his haunting silence all night. After about 30 minutes of us sitting together in silence thinking about Rachel, he finally got up and laid down on his bed, gesturing for me to follow. I made my way over and pressed my body against his cold one, his arm snaked around my waist as I laid against him. He's heavy breaths turned into soft frequent, intakes of air as he drifted into a slumber.

"What do you want to eat?" Nathan sleepily mumbled from across the table, the small amounts of chatter and shitty music coming from the jukebox was making it difficult for me to hear Nathan. I shrugged my shoulders and continued looking through the menu,
"More coffee?" Joyce called out as she walked over to us, I didn't look up in an attempt to shield my identity from her, "Elizabeth?" She asked as she poured more coffee into my cup. I looked up at her and smiled weakly, "What happened there?" She sighed sadly as her warm fingers skimmed the dark bruise under my eye, I shook my head,
"Nothing," I attempted to assure her, she nodded skeptically, then narrowed her eyes at the sight of Nathan. I wanted to tell her it wasn't him.
"I haven't seen you at home in a while," She said, "Are you too good for us now?" She laughed, I laughed with her,
"Just busy with studies," She nodded and looked over at Nathan,
"You too enjoy breakfast," Joyce smiled once she took our orders, "And please, call Chloe," I nodded as she walked off. Nathan scoffed,
"How does she not know what Chloe did to you?"
"Secrets are easy to keep here, Nathan."
"I would hope so," He sighed and leant back into the chair looking around at the diner, he groaned softly, "Frank's here," I straightened up and looked where Nathan's eyes were. Frank was sitting by himself at the opposite end of the diner eating out of s bowl furiously,
"You don't mind, do you?" I asked gesturing towards him, Nathan rolled his eyes and motioned for me to leave. I stood up and walked quickly over to him,
"Hey kid!" Frank smiled up at me, he looked tired, his eyes were dark and his stubble was overgrown, I sat down across from him, "Never thought I'd see you here again with Prescott," I smiled softly and nodded,
"Neither did I," Frank quickly started devouring his beans again, "He's nicer to me this time around," I laughed softly and Frank let out a loud chuckle,
"Is that so, Elizabeth?" He rolled his eyes,
"He's not so... Angry all the time,"
"I don't even know why you're still friends with him, Beth," He scoffed, I shrugged my shoulders,
"We get along." A few moments of silence passed and I slowly stood up, "I should get back to Nathan,"
"Any news on Rachel?" Frank almost whispered, I looked down at him and shook my head,
"Sorry, Frank." I left the table before I could take a look at his hopeless face and quickly made my way back to Nathan, he was sitting at the table, hunched over and picking at his nails.
"What'd you score?" He mumbled, I rolled my eyes as I sat down,
"He's more than a dealer to me, Nathan,"
"Right. Of course," He scoffed, I laughed lightly as his eyes shot up and glared at me,
"Are you jealous?" I asked, "Is Nathan Prescott actually jealous of someone?" My voice raised and he let out a few small laughs,
"Shut up," He smiled,
"God, the end of the world must be coming!" Our laughs fell quiet as Joyce bought over our food, the steaming plates were put in front of us and they definitely didn't stay there for long. Nathan and I leant back into our chairs once we had successfully polished the plates and Joyce had come and collected them, we sat together in a comfortable silence, admiring our surroundings before Nathan quickly sat up straight,
"What is she doing here?" He spat, I looked behind us and saw Max walking towards Frank, he angrily turned towards her and his face began to heat up in anger,
"What the fuck," I whispered,  as I stared harder at her, "Is she wearing Rachel's clothes?" I felt my throat tighten. Rachel's familiar red plaid shirt was thrown around Max's body, my palms began to sweat as I gripped onto the table. Max turned to Nathan and I as we were staring at her, I turned around the face him, his eyebrows were furrowed and his eyes narrowed as she walked towards us.
"The fuck do you want, Caulfield?" Nathan spat, "Is that your Rachel Amber costume for Halloween?" Max shifted uncomfortable and looked at me,
"Kate," She whispered before looking back at Nathan, "I know what you did to her,"
"What are you doing here, Max?" I asked her before she could accuse Nathan of anything else,
"I'm here to find out what happened to Kate," Nathan shifted uncomfortably in his seat and looked over at me briefly,
"Accusing people isn't helping. You're worsening the situation,"
"The situation is already shit, Elizabeth. Kate is dead and I'm going to find out what happened that night," Max protested, I sighed,
"She got drunk, made out with a heap of guys and unfortunately someone caught it on camera," I explained, "It's just a series of unfortunate events. Nathan did nothing to Kate but take her to the hospital, don't accuse him of something so sick!"
"What about Rachel?" Max said, Nathan shifted in his seat and my fists clenched,
"What about her?" Nathan spat,
"What happened to her?"
"If we knew she'd be here, Max. Stop prancing around in her clothes playing detective. Stop interrupting people's breakfast and do something productive," I spoke angrily, she looked at me and raised her eyebrows,
"Frank said that Nathan knows what happened," She kept shoving accusations at him,
"Frank knows shit all!" Nathan shouted, his fists clenching in anger,
"Just go, Max."
