My Saturday consisted of Netflix, nursing my bruises and drowning in my own self pity. The sun was beginning to set and I was upset that I had spent the whole day in my room doing nothing.

I could use a pick me up.
7:20 pm
My doors unlocked.

I slowly lifted my feet out of bed and placed them into the rough carpet, my legs felt weak and they took a few seconds to adjust being used. I stood up and slipped out of my pyjamas and into some casual clothes before grabbing my bag and making my out of my dorm. I quickly rushed over to Nathan's, avoiding everyone at all costs, I felt dizzy just thinking about unwillingly conversing with someone. I opened his door and slid in, closing it behind me. He was sitting down on his couch watching an old black and white film on his projector screen, he looked up at me and smiled before patting the spot next to him.
"Your bruises look better," He acknowledged once I sat next to him, I nodded,
"I've been looking after them," He lightly pressed a kiss to my forehead and I was taken back by his sweet gesture.
"Chloe's been texting me non stop all day," He said, I quickly looked up at him, he looked confused, "Kept telling me to tell you that she was sorry. She wanted you to text her back," I shook my head, "What the fuck did she do, Elizabeth?"
I explained what Chloe had told me yesterday to him without any tears falling. Nathan was mad, understandably, but he wasn't just angry, he was Nathan angry and that was potentially dangerous to Chloe. I rested my head against his shoulder as the old film played in the background, he grabbed a joint and slipped it between my lips before lighting it, I breathed in the intoxicating smoke and a light haze slipped over me.
"Do you miss her?" I asked suddenly after a while of silence, I felt Nathan's heart race against the side of my face, he inhaled before answering,
"As much as I'd miss anyone I haven't seen in 7 months," I nodded, "So, no,"
"She was everywhere, Nathan. How do you not expect to see her face around every corner?" I asked,
"I said I didn't miss her. If I saw her face again I certainly wouldn't be happy about it," He answered, reaching for the joint in between my fingers and placing it between his lips,
"I wonder what she would be doing right now,"
"I know what she's doing right now," He sighed, "She's in a hole in the ground, Elizabeth. We can't change that. Stop thinking about the hypothetical,"
"Don't say stuff like that, Nathan,"
"You were there," He huffed, "How do you see any other reality but the one we're in now? Rachel isn't missing, she isn't in L.A, she's dead and we did it." I sat up off his shoulder and looked down at my hands,
"I understand that you're angry," I whispered, "But don't say shit like that Nathan," I raised my voice slightly. "You don't have to be a fucking asshole to prove your point all the time, you know," I looked up at him and his eyes were harsh but quickly softened once he saw how hurt I was,
"I know. Just go to sleep," He suggested, "You're tired."

I had been in and out of a pretty light sleep all night so when Nathan was mumbling and moving around frequently in his sleep I was woken up quickly. His slow mumbles soon turned into loud whimpers and tears were quickly streaming down his face,
"Nathan," I whispered trying not to wake him up with a startle, I slowly shook his shoulder, he shot up and pushed me away from him, "Nathan," I repeated and sat up with him, scooting closer. His face softened when he saw me but quickly harshened again,
"Get out," He said, my eyebrows furrowed, "I said," He breathed deeply, "Get the fuck out," He repeated, his expressions hardening. Anxiety rose in my stomach as I quickly collected my belongings and left him alone.

My bed was hard, cold and infuriatingly uncomfortable all night. I was lucky if I got one hour of sleep. My mind was switching between Chloe and Nathan like a fluorescent light when you first switch it on. I wanted it to stop so I soon stopped trying to sleep and lit a joint in an attempt to stop my thoughts from racing through my mind. I watched the shadows cast on my roof and walls change as the sun rose and I listened to people slowly awaken and make their way to class. Three solid knocks at my door made me jump and groan slightly, I welcomed them in.
"I'm not going to class today," Victoria said as soon as she entered,
"But you have a class with Jefferson today," I smirked sarcastically, she rolled her eyes,
"Whatever," Victoria crossed her arms over her chest, "Breakfast at Two Whales, on me," I nodded and started to get up, Victoria did a double take, "What the fuck happened to your face?" I huffed in annoyance,
"I had dinner with my father,"
"Holy shit, Elizabeth," She sighed as I slowly got dressed, "Are you okay?" I nodded as I slid on a pair of jeans,
"Fine."

The diner was pretty much empty, Victoria and I sat in the last booth and waited for our food,
"I'm so fucking hungry," She sighed once she placed her phone down on the table, I leant back into the chair and smiled slightly at her attempt of small talk.
"Why are you doing this?" I asked, she looked up at me and squinted her eyes,
"Doing what?"
"Taking me out to breakfast on such short notice," I explained, "Don't you have better things to do?"
"Nathan told me," She sighed in defeat, "He told me what Chloe did," My stomach dropped, she knows about the hospital, "I can't believe she fucking shipped you off there. You have a life here,"
"It wasn't that bad, V,"
"Yeah, I fucking bet," She scoffed, "Seattle sounds amazing. You probably made some really good friends there," Victoria sighed and my eyebrows furrowed, "It was Seattle, right? Where your mum lives?" I nodded quickly,
"Right. Yes," I agreed, "It was okay," She nodded before her eyes widened and eyebrows raised, her eyes followed something moving behind me and I turned around. Chloe. I rolled my eyes and turned back around, she walked up to our table, Victoria continued staring at her,
"Here to ship her off again, Price?"
