A/N SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING, I'VE BEEN SOOO BUSY WITH SCHOOL PROJECTS, NETFLIX, AND DRAWING A BUNCH OF SHIT
FORGIVE ME YOU GUYS
~Hank McCoy~
Notes. It all started with notes.
Tiny ones at first, like 'You're cute'.
I found at least one per day. Some in my Sherlock Holmes books, some on my desk, stuff like that.
I never caught the person who did these things. It absolutely puzzled me why anybody would give these things to me of all people.
My mind went crazy thinking of which of the boys would do that.
Sean? Probably not, because he'd probably say it right out. Alex? Maybe, because he tends to be kind of vague at times. Hank? Probably, I mean, he's shy and adorable and just wants to stay in his lab all day, yeah, I may have a small crush on him. Alright, it may be a big crush.
I buried my head in my hands and sighed, frustrated about the whole situation.
"Why would anybody even give me these letters, I mean, I'm just a short, chubby girl who likes to read a lot." I whispered, my hands shaking.
"Who am I kidding? Somebody's just playing a stupid fucking trick on me." I sighed and got up, the sleeves of my oversized sweater cascaded past my hands, giving me a sense of comfort.
I grabbed my book and walked out of the cozy library, the only place that had really made me happy. The hallways were completely empty, everybody was still a little bit depressed from the battle a few weeks earlier, Erik and Raven betraying us, and Charles' injuries.
I passed the living room, hoping maybe I would see somebody, and all I saw was an empty, bland room.
No Banshee showing off, no Hank being shy on the corner of the couch, no Alex drinking at the little bar in the corner, no Charles and Erik laughing together, no Raven laughing with everybody, and I wasn't sitting in the corner reading.
I walked out into the usually beautiful garden, but it seemed dreary and sad.
I sat on the old stone bench in front of the fountain and started to read.
After a few minutes of reading I found another note.
"WHAT THE FUCK!" I yelled, completely frustrated with the stupid notes.
"I'M SO DONE WITH THESE FUCKING THINGS!" I yelled once again.
"Are you okay?" A shy voice called from behind me.
I knew exactly who it was, Hank.
"I-I'm okay." I called, still incredibly frustrated.
"No you're not." Hank said softly, sitting down next to me.
"It's these stupid notes, they're everywhere. I can't seem to escape them." I explained, shaking my head.
"Have you tried figuring out who it is?" He asked in his usual shy voice.
"Of course I have, I just can't seem to figure out who it is." I told him, closing my book.
Hank smiled, for some weird reason, and said, "Well, I hope you find out who it is!" He walked away, presumably to his lab.
I was completely and utterly confused.
"Whatever." I sighed and opened back up my book.
A folded note fell out of the back of the book.
"GOD!" I yelled.
I opened the note and was completely touched.
Dear Y/N
I've loved you ever since we met.
You've always been a ray of sunshine when we've all felt down.
All you do to make everybody happy is just sit down in your chair and smile while reading your book.
All I ever do is sit in my lab and be awkward around everybody.
You may think you're chubby and ugly, but you're absolutely adorable and the sweetest person I know.
Everybody adores you, even though you might not think that.
I love you.
I love you, your bookwormy-ness, your shortness, and your ability to instantly cheer everybody up with one snarky remark.
Love,
Hank
Tears leaked from my E/c eyes.
"Oh my God, I've got to go find Hank!" I exclaimed, leaving my book on the stone bench.
I ran towards the house, smiling, but slightly huffing.
"I AM NOT IN SHAPE!" I yelled, almost to the door.
I ran through the house going towards Hank's lab.
I skid(ded?) to a stop in front.
The door was closed, but not locked. I quietly opened the door and saw Hank sitting at his desk with his head in his hands, muttering to himself.
"Stupid, stupid STUPID!" He yelled at himself, obviously very frustrated with himself.
Was it about me? Was he regretting giving me the letter?
"H-Hank?" I whispered, tapping his shoulder, which made him jump and turn red. He looked at me, regret in his eyes. I smiled comfortingly.
"Y-You're not mad at me?" He stuttered, a shred of hope in his voice.
"I'm happy, Hank. The notes were driving me absolutely insane. And, I love you too." I put my arms around his neck, since he was still facing the wall. I placed a tiny kiss on the side of his cheek, which made him turn redder than he already was.
"R-r-really? Y-you love me t-too?" He asked as let go of him and sat next to him.
"I have for a long time now, silly. Even when you turned blue and furry." I told him, my face going slightly red.
"You're the most adorable thing I've ever met." He muttered, surprisingly, embracing me in a hug.
