A/n: It took me about 4ish days to finish this, but it's really long. I had no ideas for the name, so I made it hella simple.

I sighed as people stared at me in the hallways. We were all incredibly different from normal people, but I got picked on more often than anybody else did because of my height. I was almost a foot and a half taller than anybody else was. I had to duck through doorways all the time, and I couldn't even go in some rooms because I was so tall. I hated my height, and I hated how it made my stomach almost eye-level, and the fact that my thighs slightly rubbed together.

People really didn't care about the fact that my skin was scaly and green or the fact that I had wings. The outside was the only place I could really feel welcome and free. Outside, I could fly to my heart's content, and I wouldn't have to feel judged by everybody else.

I only had a few friends, Peter, Ororo, Warren, Scott, Jean, and Kurt, everybody else just stared at me warily.

Peter was my best friend, since we were the same age and everybody else was younger. I had a huge crush on him, he didn't treat me any differently than a normal person and actually liked the fact that I was tall. We had only met about a month ago, in that terrible cage being questioned about the Professor, even though none of us knew where he was at the time.

He'd been acting quite strange lately, running off somewhere right after training, and all people would see of him was a silver blur, until dinnertime.

I had walls around myself, keeping people away and keeping myself completely isolated. Peter had completely broken down those walls with his handsome smirk and his funny demeanor. I had completely fallen for him, even though I was almost certain he couldn't love a freak like me.

Quickly, I walked outside, seeing nobody that I really wanted to see, so I flew off, leaving the ground and the judgemental people behind.

"Hey, Warren!" I waved to my friend, who was also flying at the time.

"Hi, Y/n!" He waved at me, his metal wings flapping in the wind.

"H-have you seen Peter anywhere?" I asked him, flying next to him.

"No, I only saw him at training this morning." He said, running a hand through his hair.

"I saw him run off after practice, but I have no idea where he went." I said, my wings flapping in the wind. "I'm going to go to the gardens, I need to think."

"I'll see you later, Y/n, I hope you find Peter soon!" He said to me as I soared down to the ground at lightning speeds.

"Damn, Y/n." Scott said as I landed next to him.

"What?" I asked, smiling innocently.

"Well, for one, you just zoomed down here at the speed of light, and two, you scared the shit out of me." He pointed out as Jean walked up next to us.

"Yeah, I feel no shame in that." I told him.

"What are you guys talking about?" Jean asked, taking Scott's hand.

"Scott was just telling me how I scared the shit out of him." I laughed, fiddling with my sleeves.

"I'm guessing you dive-bombed behind him?" She asked me, holding her books close to her chest.

"Yeah, I kind of did." I awkwardly rubbed the back of my neck. "Also, have you guys seen Peter any time after training?"

"I think we saw him a couple of hours ago, he was grabbing something from the garden, didn't we, Jean?" Scott said, kissing Jean's cheek.

Their relationship seemed absolutely perfect at times, I wanted a relationship like theirs, but nobody could love a giant, dragon freak like me.

"Yeah, we did, I think he went into the woods, try there." Jean told me as I smiled.
