Flora's POV
We were all talking outside when we were called in for dinner, I stood up and walked inside along with everyone else. Once I stepped through the door, the smell of spaghetti bolognese filled my nostrils- it smelt incredible. The table was filled with overflowing plates of sauce and pasta, I took a seat between Tee and Harry and began to eat, I poured myself a glass of squash and downed it, I was still really thirsty from the football match.

"So, how are you finding it here Flora?" Mike asked, whilst swirling some pasta onto his fork.

"I'm really enjoying it, thank you Mike!" I replied, before picking up another forkful of mince. After eating my food, I went to go and help everyone with all of the cleaning.

"Oh no Flora, you're new, you get out of chores- just for today though." May-Li informed me.

"Are you sure? I honestly don't mind!"

" Of course, it'll give you time to go and unpack" she smiled. I left the kitchen and found my way to my room upstairs. Opening the door, I noticed that someone had brought my bags up for me- I mentally smiled. I walked towards them, undoing the zip of my suitcase. After about 20 minutes, I had fully unpacked everything, excluding one final case- the one with my guitar. No one knows that I play, I used to be bullied about it at my old care homes, so I simply stopped telling people. I opened the case and lifted out my prized instrument; it was a stunning cream colour and looked like one that you wold see in tumblr photos. It was already tuned so I walked over to my bed and rested it on my lap, trying to recollect the chords to a song. One in particular came into my head so I started to sing:

Skies are crying
I am watching
Catching tear drops in my hands
Only silence
Has an ending
Like we never had a chance

Do you have to
Make me feel like
There is nothing left of me

You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper

As the smoke clears
I awaken
And untangle you from me
Would it make you
Feel better
To watch me while I bleed

All my windows
Still are broken
But I'm standing on my feet

You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper

Go run run run
I'm gonna stay right here
Watch you disappear ya yaa
Go run run run
Ya it's a long way down
But I am closer to the clouds up here

You can take everything I have
You can break everything I am
Like I'm made of glass
Like I'm made of paper
Go on and try to tear me down
I will be rising from the ground
Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper

Like a skyscraper
Like a skyscraper

As I finished singing, I let out a huge sob, this tune reminds me of my parents- they loved this song and would always listen to it. It makes me feel connected to them, it's the one thing I have left of my mum, she used to sing too- she loved it and so do I. It makes me feel free. Like I can let my emotions out.

I could hear muffled whispers coming from the other side of my door, I stood up- dried my eyes and pulled it open- the whole of the house were there, they all heard me. I slammed the door and ran to my bed, ripping up the covers and hiding beneath them. Tear after tear began to fall and soon enough I was drowning in a river of my own sorrows. There was a knock at the door, they're probably here to laugh at me so I just ignored it. Another knock.

"Go away!" I shouted.

Another knock.

"Please..." I choked, another soft cry escaped my lips.

" It's Tee, please let me in."

"Only you?"

"Only me"

I walked to the door and slowly opened it.
