“What do you mean?” I asked when I found my voice. I was holding up my end, why wasn't he? Even after that speech this morning about sticking together, he left me hanging. How could he.

“Valarie,” he started shaking his head slowly his eyes getting watery, “I thought I'd have more time.”

“Will. What did you do?” I asked quickly.

“I know it was stupid, Val.” he shook his head shutting his eyes.

“Will, tell me.”
“I lost it.” He finally said. I raised my eyebrow and he looked up under his lashes judging my reaction. “Gambling. I owe a lot of money still, I thought I could win twice that, so we wouldn't have to live here anymore, we could start over.”

I stood up, “How could you! That money was our only chance at becoming a family! You ruined everything.” I screamed at him before slamming the door to the apartment and walking down the stairs to the lot. I paced for a few minutes, letting my anger off. It wasn't working the best so I began running. I didn't know where I was running but I came across a familiar house, I sighed and ran up to the house.

I knocked on the brass knockers, crossing my fingers that it would be in my favor.

“Valarie?” the voice asked from behind me. My heart stopped and then sped up in over drive.

“I need to talk to you.” I told him, I didn't know why I wanted to tell him this. I would have just talked to Jeff but I don't know, I didn't want him to know.

He smiled, “Yeah we do. Did you walk all the way here?” he looked around, probably looking for a car.

“I ran.” I said quickly.

His eyes flashed up to me, “What happened? Are you okay?” He asked quickly coming towards me, engulfing me in a hug.

I nodded into his chest but the tears began to flow. “I- we can't...”I told him.

“Shhh... I got you. Its going to be okay.” He soothed stroking my hair.

I shook my head, “It's not going to be okay, everything is ruined.” I sobbed.

“What happened? Valarie?” he said pulling me away from him to look at me, I turned away so he couldn't see me cry. His warm fingers were under my chin, gently lifting so I looked him in the eyes. “You can tell me. I will do everything in my power to help you.”

I told him everything and he offered to help pay and I rejected.

“Please let me do this for you.” He pleaded before dropping me off at my house.

I shook my head, “I can't. It won't be right.”

“How about a loan?”

“I can't pay you back, and from the sounds of it, my brother can't pay back our other debts.”

“You don't have to pay me with money..” He smirked, I gaped at him and he laughed, “that wasn't what I meant, but if you want...”

I blushed, “Nope. What would you want in return?” I asked seriously considering this.

“You have to give me another chance.” He told me simply pulling into my parking lot.

I looked at the setting sun and contemplated this. I sighed, I had to do what it takes. I could do this for Aden and Rosie.

“Deal.”

He smiled and took out his wallet, he handed me ten one hundred dollar bills. Who carries that much in their wallet? I didn't care I just wanted the money so I could buy their things before tomorrow.

I smiled as the bills landed in my hand. I couldn't control my excitement, “Thank you so much, you have no idea how much this means to me.” I told him opening my door, before I was all the way out, I leaned back over and gave him a kiss on his cheek. “Thanks this is really sweet of you.”

He was smiling from ear to ear as I closed the door and walking up the stairs.

I opened the door slowly with butterflies in my stomach. Arms wrapped around me and Will's familiar sent flared in my nose.

I hugged him but pushed away quickly. “Come on.” I pulled his hand leading him back down the stairs.

“Where are we going?” He asked as I pushed him into the passengers seat. I smiled and hopped into the drivers seat. Making my way to the store. “what are we doing here? Val I told you, I don't have any money...” I flashed the hundreds in front of his face. “what the hell did you rob a bank?”

I laughed, “Of coarse not. Its a loan.”

“we can't spend that, I don't want my baby sister selling her body for this.”

“I'm not selling my body!” well not exactly. “Beside it would be worth it for them.”

“Then how did you get that?”

“I told you it's a loan.”

“What did you give him in return? These people like incentives.”

“I'm spending this money weather you want to join me or not! I will do what ever it takes to get them back we me.”

“Me too, Val but I..”
“No buts,” I scolded.

“I'm not happy about this.” he shook his head following me into the store.

“Neither am I but we have too.”
