Chapter 8. Death of a Loved One

(Alexander POV)

I sat against Jaws as I stared out to see, thinking about Sabo. Its only been a few days since I woke up & we heard nothing about Sabo. Dogura went to the Goa Kingdom to see the arrival of the 'Celestial Dragons' come, while the rest of us were doing our own thing. I look down at the scar that was slashed across my face & I gently touch it, I'm glad this didn't happen to Luffy, cause the idiot already has one

I open my eyes & see that a little white dove had flew by, I look at Jaws & saw that he was going to eat it but I snapped my fingers, he backed away. The little dove landed on my shoulder & it had a envelope, so out of curiosity I opened it

"Ace, Luffy & Alex, I hope you guys weren't hurt in the fire. I'm worried about you three but I believe that you're okay. I'm sorry to say it but when you guys get this letter I'll already be, out on the sea. Things led to things and I decided to set out to sea before you. My destination will be anywhere but here. I'll become stronger and become a pirate. The four of us have to be the freest pirates ever so then lets meet up again somewhere. Somewhere on the big open sea, definitely someday. By the way Ace, I wonder which one of us is the older brother. One big brother, two big younger brothers a one little brother. It's weird but our brotherhood is my treasure. Luffy is still a weak crybaby but he is our little brother so you two take good care of him." I gasp

"He left... oh no!" I got up & started running towards the Goa Kingdom, I was too slow so Jaws came & gave me a lift before running towards the Kingdom. We made it & I saw a little boat beside a giant ship, my eyes widened "No... no no no no no! Sabo NO!!!" but it was to late, he boat exploded & I fell to my knees

Tears fell from my eyes & onto the ground, I slammed my hand onto the ground & gritted my teeth. I tried to hold back the other tears that threatened to fall but failed miserably & started sobbing, I lost someone else that was so close to me... someone that I loved. I yell out in frustration while scrunching up the letter that was still in my hands

"Sabo!!"

(Time Skip)

I return to the hut & see there was yelling, I walk in & saw that Ace was yelling at Dogura & saying that he was lying that Sabo was there, I had enough

"Enough!" they all turn their heads to me, I look at Luffy & notice he's been crying

"Alex! Tell me! Tell me Sabo isn't dead!" I look up a bit before turning my head & looking down at the ground

"I'd be lying if I said no." I look up & see Ace walking towards me, suddenly he grabbed the collar of my shirt & started yelling in my face

"Now you believe he's dead?!"

"I don't want to believe he's dead!"

"Then how do you know he's dead?!"

"I saw him die because of those damn fucking bastards called Celestial Dragons! I'd kill them if I could but if I do I'd be killed a second later!" Ace was going to punch me but Dadan grabbed him & pulled him outside, I follow behind her & see that she was tying him up on a tree

"Let me go! I'll kill them!"

"No Ace!" Luffy came running out & hugged me from behind, I turn around & give him a full hug while crying a little bit

"S-Sabo's gone, Alex!"

"I-I know... I couldn't protect him... I couldn't do anything!"

(Time Skip - Again)

Currently Luffy was lying down on his chest while his face was on the ground & his hat was covering his face, I was staring out to see while sitting on the edge of the cliff, leaving my legs dangling off the edge. I hear footsteps & easily recognize them as Ace's, I remember handing him the letter Sabo left before going off with Luffy

"Ace.. Alex," we both look down at him "I-I wanna be stronger, stronger then before... So strong that I can protect anything & anyone! I won't have to lose anyone else ever again! I beg you two! A-Ace, Alex, please don't die!" I bonk his head again

"Cut it out! Listen carefully Luffy, we promise that we will never die!"

"Mm," Ace looks at me "How could we leave such a little brother like you behind? I wouldn't forgive myself." Ace nods

"Listen Luffy, we will live without any regrets."

"Uh-huh."

"We gotta go out to sea & live as we like! Freer then anyone else."

"Uh-huh." suddenly I stood up & crossed my arms

"Luffy, no matter what happens. The two of us promise you that we will never lose nor will we ever die in vain! I promise you that we will set out to see & when we meet again, we will be the freest people in the entire world & don't ever doubt that Luffy!" he nods

"Uh huh."

"Together, the two of us will help you become the King of the Pirates!"
