(Third Person POV)
Everyone was either asleep or hung over to even move or notice Alex & Ace stumble away with a few bottles of sake & made their way to the cliff. They sat over the edge as they chugged down bottles of alcohol
"To… being alive?" they cheers & Ace grins
"To being alive!" after Ace finished a bottle he threw it into the water & grabbed another one, it didn't take long for Ace to get drunk & almost fall off the cliff. Alex easily grabbed the collar of his shirt & threw him back
"Idiot…" Alex noticed a flame on Ace's nose so he pulled a cigarette out & let it with that flame before smoking it "Goodnight, kid." Alex looked up & admired the stars, unaware of a certain someone climbing up the mountain
Garp stood in front of the shack & saw all the pirates, he already saw the ships & hell there were a lot of pirates. He had a damn opportunity to arrest them but… he didn't. So he looked around, he also heard in the newspaper that Alex was supposedly alive
He didn't want to believe it…
Even so he didn't see Alex anywhere so he still thought it was nothing, that was when he heard something so he followed that noise. There he was at the cliff to see Ace knocked out cold & a certain boy with pink hair
"My life is so fucking weird, full of so many fucking surprises!" he spat out the cigarette & drank the rest of sake in his hands before throwing the bottle away "Totally…"
"Alex?" the pinked haired man flinched at the voice, but didn't turn around. He recognizes that voice anywhere, that's why he was scared shitless "Alex… is that really you…?" he took a deep breath before standing up & turning around
"H-Hey, grandpa…" suddenly Garp sped over to him & as Alex closed his eyes to expect the worst… he got a hug instead "W-Wha…?"
"You stupid boy! This whole time you were alive & you didn't even think of saying hello to your old man." Alex's breathing started getting a little funny as he hugged Garp back
"S-Sorry, grandpa. Just got caught up in a few things."
"Like what?"
"Joining Luffy's crew."
"Really?!" the two sat down & actually started having a friendly conversation, without any arguments or fighting, it was pretty peaceful if I'm honest
"& I think Luffy has a crush on one of the crew members." that shocked Garp
"Seriously?"
"Seriously! I was shocked too, she's a bounty hunter for god sakes! Same with Ace, he fell in love with one of the Romana Siblings."
"Which one, the older or younger one?"
"Younger, Tsume is her name."
"Wow, what about Sabo?"
"Her name is Keisha Frost, a cute girl from the revolution army." Garp laughed out loud & almost smacked Alex off the cliff
"A cute girl is she?! What about you Alex?! Found a girl in your life?" he went silent "It seems so. Who is she?"
"U-Um… her name is Nico Robin."
"The Nico Robin, from Ohara?" he nods
"Yeah… she's so amazing! I love her to bits, I'd do anything… just to keep her happy or, to keep her with me."
"So deep, you almost sound like your father." he tenses up a bit, the two stay in a awkward silence before Alex finally said
"What were they like?"
"Who?"
"My parents, before I was born."
"Hmm, you could say your much like you'd mother! She was very calm, beautiful, she had manners & hell did she know when to pick a fight. Your father was the same but he was a little more, childish if I'm honest, like Samantha. I also think you get your smoking habits from your father & the drinking from your mother." Alex laughed at that "When I first met them, they were rivals! They hated each other & always had these challenges to prove who was the strongest!"
"Who was?!"
"Well that's obvious, your mother! Akainu then had enough of their nonsense so he forced them onto the same crew & at first it was a bad idea… that was until they started getting along & eventually… got married & had you, 4 years later your sister was born. Before you came along they retired of being marines so it would keep you two safe, it worked but they both passed away… Alex I'm, Alex?" Garp noticed that Alex started crying & that broke him
"That k-kinda reminds me of Sam & I-I, we used t-to fight over the dumbest things… s-same with the ASL." he started sobbing as Garp pulled him into a hug "I saw them! Garp, I saw them when I died!"
"Your parents?"
"Yes! They hadn't changed sense the last time I saw them though…!"
"Its okay Alex, its okay." Alex tightened his grip around him & cried into his chest, Garp is the only person he told about that, he hadn't even told Sam about it. They break the embrace & Alex wipes his tears away, & smiled up at Garp
"Thanks, I really needed that."
"I can tell."
"… do you want to go down? I feel like everyone is gonna get one hell of a surprise." Garp grinned
"Yeah! Let's go!" they stood up & before they left, Alex grabbed Ace's ankle & as the two were walking down, Alex was dragging Ace back to the shack
