Everyone was cheery and dancing about the burrow happy for the Christmas season. Almost everyone was there and the atmosphere was a buzz but one person was missing, Vivian's favourite Weasley, Charlie. He didn't get leave off from his work in Romania often and it just so happens it was one of those unlucky things, some dragons were sick from poor weather and they needed extra staff. He'd always loved dragons though, so no one minded terribly much and there had been post cards sent.

Vivian loved christmas at the Weasley's with presents flying everywhere and plenty of food for the whole of Hogwarts nevermind just them. Fred and George had disappeared out, probably to test all their new gadgets on innocent people, and everyone else seemed to have dispersed to their rooms leaving just Molly, Arthur, Bill and Vivian herself. She didn't mind, she'd always been quite close to Bill and they got along great but truthfully she just wanted Charlie to walk through the door.

"Can't believe it's really been a whole year since I've seen ya!" Bill beamed and Vivian laughed a little "missed you too Bill" She shoved him lightly before turning to look at a confused Arthur Weasley messing about with what seemed like a muggle toy helicopter "why do they need this fiddly remote??"

They both laughed a little and Vivian turned more towards Bill again, poking his side softly "How's it going with fleur then? I hear she's pregnant!!" A smile broke across his face as he started talking about it and Vivian nodded along trying to keep up with it all. "What about you then? Still pining over our Charlie or found someone new?" He wiggled his eyebrows as her cheeks filled in bright red, staring at him "pining? I don't pine over Charlie, nope" she shook her head quickly cursing the fact her face was probably giving it all away. "Honestly you cant deny it, it's blatantly obvious you do" Bill grinned and just as she was about to tell him to shut up there was a rush of powder puffed from the floo system and out popped Charlie himself.

"Speak of the devil!! Oh Charlie dear you almost gave me a heart attack" Molly got up quickly and dusted herself off before giving her son a hug "What're you doing here? I need to make sure there's enough food!! We all missed you love, let me go fetch everyone". Mrs weasley was rambling by this point and even as Charlie tried to speak she was rushing off. Vivian could see Bill had a smirk plastered on his face from the corner of her eye as Charlie's gaze drifted over to her. She pushed Bill out of the way rolling her eyes a little and rushed over to Charlie practically tackling him back into the fireplace. "CHARLIE!" her arms had flung around his neck as he stumbled back a bit letting out that low gentle laugh. "Vivian" he mumbled and wrapped his arms around her waist, picking her up to spin them around and nuzzled his face into her hair taking in a big breath reminding himself of her scent.

"Definitely not pining" mumbled Bill as he got up, smiling a little and leaving the two alone for a bit. Vivian rolled her eyes, pulling away reluctantly from the hug to look up at his beautiful face. "What does he mean?" Charlie furrowed his eyebrows, a blush tinting Vivian's cheeks but she just dismissed the question. "You smell of dragon" she scrunched her noise up playfully pushing him away but he grabbed her arms pulled her right back to him "Well you smell of flowers" Charlie put on a face of mock disgust and wrinkled up his nose before the both burst out laughing. Vivian didn't know how or why he had this effect on her, maybe it'd been the reoccurring crush she'd been too scared to face or the fact they just always got along but around each other they were always happy. She just wanted to reach down and take his hand in hers, but they'd been friends for years it gave her nightmares to think she could lose that.

"CHARLIE CHARLIE CHARLIE" A bunch of people tumbled into the room one after another and in less than a minute the whole family was in the room asking questions and starting conversations that wouldn't be finished, 'I thought you were in Romania?', 'oh my look at your arms', 'how are the dragons?, 'we miss you!'. Vivian reached out to try and keep hold of him in the sudden madness but even so ended up on the edge of the room letting everyone keep up with him. It was sweet to see but she couldn't help but be a little sad at the thought that she probably wasn't going to get much time with him today.

She quietly slipped out to get away from the crowded room and her feet crunched down on the frosty grass taking in a breath of the cool air. Back inside the Burrow an almost unnoticeable frown formed on Charlie's face as he saw her leave, but continued on with greeting his family trying to stay cheery, he was happy to be home after all. They didn't see each other again until the evening meal and Vivian was one of the last ones in, she rushed over to the last free seat which happened to be next to charlie. "You disappeared earlier" He turned to her looking a little saddened and it felt as if Vivian's heart twanged inside her chest, "I'm here now though" she nudged his shoulder and picked up her fork to eat, giving him a soft smile and he thankfully took that as an answer.

After the meal everyone went their separate ways again, some staying at the table and some wandering off outside. "I can help with the dishes" Vivian volunteered but Molly just dismissed her and used a spell to sort it out "Don't you worry I'll take care of it". She tried to protest but Mrs Weasley wasn't having any of it and Vivian eventually gave up turning to charlie who was still seated, seeming a bit tired. "We need to see each other more yknow" She grinned and turned to face him, crossing her legs together on the chair. "We do, gosh I missed you" he grinned and reached a hand up to unconsciously fix Vivian's slightly messed up hair. "God are they flirting? GROSSSS" the sound came from the doorway as they both turned to the person, blushing profusely to see Ron in the doorway with his friend's Harry and Hermione. "Oh shut up run" Hermione hit him on the arm pulling the boys away and Vivian looked back to Charlie, heart hammering in her cheat seemingly unable to speak. "That.. I swear..." she was slightly worried he would put together the pieces that she liked him, as half the weasley family had already done. "They're just joking about, don't be all flustered viv" He laughed a little reaching for her hand, swinging it a little and she noticed all the scars he'd gained over the years.

"That's a lot of scars" she mumbled tracing her fingers over them, pretending the last minute or so didn't happen, even though she was still clearly blushing. "There's a lot of dragons, they mean well though" he twisted their hands slightly so her fingers fell between his and laced them together. It was as if her heart had stopped in her chest as she realised what he'd just done, she wasn't even sure if he'd meant to do it but looked up to his face once more wide slightly wide eyes. "Viv.. Vivian, there's something I really need to tell you" he seemed awkward with his words, fumbling over them which he never had done before. She was waiting for him to speak again, his mouth slightly open and she squeezed his hand reassuringly "I don't want anything between us to change, but gosh vivi you're just so beautiful and sweet, kind and caring, funny and god how do I even sum it up". Her heart was definitely pounding now and Vivian wasn't even sure if she could still hear what he was saying.

Her body was taken over by this fuzziness as she watched his lips trying to figure out what he was saying. "Please don't hate me viv..." It took Vivian a moment to notice he hadn't been speaking for a bit, she was just staring at him mouth agape. "Hate you? What? No, no I could never hate you" She looked across his worried face and he nodded slowly. "All those years just waiting for you, no one else could compare to you god I'm stupid aren't I?" Charlie began rambling again but Vivian shook her head quickly, lifting a finger and pressing it to his lips to silence him. Sparks were flying through her whole body, everything and nothing was happening at once the feeling was impossible to describe as she trailed her fingers over his lips. By this point he was blushing a bright red which Vivian was not used to and she couldn't help but smile a little. She leaned forward pressing her lips to his in a soft kiss, hand moving to cup around the back of his neck and pull him closer. Immediately his lips were moving back against hers, where they belong, and her hands trailed up into his hair tugging on the soft ginger locks. He pulled her onto his lap, grabbing greedily at her waist as she pressed her body more against his the kiss becoming more desperate. His teeth sunk down on her bottom lip softly and it was less than a second before she opened her mouth and their tongues clashed together.

"Well finally.." Muttered Bill was the doorway and they both pulled away breathless turning to see him. Vivian's lips were slightly swollen and she felt slightly embarrassed, breathing heavily but a smile was plastered across her face and Charlie pulled her even closer to him if that was possible, arms strong around her waist. "Finally" Charlie agreed, turning back to his life long crush and kissing her lips softly, one of many kisses to come.
