Mr. Sherlock and Ms. Nancy
7:28 am - Continuation of Second Conversation
Audrey - Jace"So, why we are here again?" I ask, unbuckling my seatbelt while Jace unbuckles his.
"To spy on Henry."
"Why?"
"Okay. So, I'll be total honest on my story, BUT don't interrupt me while I talk. Got it?" he raises an eyebrow, wanting my answer.
"Gotcha, start spilling.."
"Alright, so last week, I actually planned to go stalk mode on Henry, just so you know, scare him off his pants..."
I roll my eyes, oh Jace...
"Then, yeah, I followed him at this time, on his house. I got to peek on his window, and immediately followed him out when I saw him leave. I went to a stop, when he actually talks to this hooded man, which he follows after handshaking with him. Well, I followed them until they entered this warehouse where a grey bearded guy guards the door, letting them inside."
I blink and I nod, letting it all sink on my huge brain.
"So, I thought 'hey, this is a wrong time' so I went back to my house, and you know let the day play itself. The next day, I did the same thing, I go stalker mode to him, but he did the same thing and followed this hooded guy and went to the same warehouse. It freaked me out so much, that I had to know what he's hiding and I think, it's not good." he finishes, leaving my mouth slightly opened. Well, he has conscience after all.
"So you decided to follow him because of...that?"
"Yeah, I do this everyday. I tried getting my chances getting in but the warehouse is damn full of guards,so I've been waiting for a chance to sneak in and see what he's hiding."
"You're really into this, eh Sherlock?"
"You bet... I'm already tasting that sweet revenge, so get your butt out there Nancy!" he yells and we both get out on his car, and find a spot to hide and spy on Henry.
"So I'm Nancy?" I asked, making his lips curve to a smirk.
"Of course, you call me Sherlock, so I'll call you Nancy. You volunteered helping me get my revenge on this mysterious guy, you're in this now." he explains, taking another peek on the bushes.
Wow, what a typical place to hide. That's the only hiding spot we could be since their place are far more covered with plants, and bushes are one of them.
Henry comes out of their door, holding a big black backpack (that's a rhyme!) and hurriedly locks the door to jog on the pavement going to the left side of the road.
Jace and I follow him jog until we halted and hid on a building near him. He stops and goes to talk with this hooded man, like Jace had said, and mysteriosly enough, gives him the black bag. He and I exchange glances of what we are seeing.
'Hmm...what's on the bag?' I thought. I had so many questions on my head to process, but I had been cut off by Jace's hands, when he pulls me up, letting us follow their footsteps.
His hold sends sweet, electric sparks on my body, I swear.
They lead us to a freaking forest, until we saw a warehouse, the two kept walking, but we had to stop for safety purposes. The guy who was in his 40's, guards the door, but opens it as Henry and the hooded man enters the inside the dark, unknown of the warehouse. He closes it shut, and gets back on his position to stand beside it.
"Believe me?"
"Yeah...super..." I am loss of words seeing this all today.
"Let's go back to the car." he suggests, holding my hand and pulls me away from the bushes.
Again, the electric sparks...dammit.
We got back from the forest, panting for breath. So much for running, and the best part, he still has hold of my hand.
We went back inside of his car, and buckles the seat.
"You had to wake me up, just to see that?"
"Yeah, isn't that fun?"
"Sorta. But, you know, your not bad as a guy..."
"That's why I still had girlfriends, no one understands!" he whined as I laugh with him. He drives back to my house, well, to go back to sleep? It's sunday anyway, I haven't got much to do so...
WHILE DRIVING...
"Are you close with your Dad?" I ask, breaking the silence that had been bothering me for 10 minutes. A dumb question, I know he already mentioned him once to me, saying he doesn't have time on him.
"Are you serious?"
"Pretty sure this look is serious." I pointed out, literally my eyes looking at him, as he took a glance to look at my really serious face.
"Not really..." he sighs, keeping his eyes on the road. I need to know at least why he's like this.
"How? If you don't want to answer, then it's--"
"He beats me up." he cuts me off, as another sigh leaves his breath. What?!
"What?"
"He beats me up, everytime he's drunk..."
"My god, why aren't you telling this to the police?"
"I don't want to..." he finally answers, which made my heart melt. He loves his dad, period.
The car stopped when we were at my front porch. I unbuckle my seatbelts, getting out and waved a goodbye before turning back.
My hands froze when someone took hold of it. I turned back again, it's Jace.
"What is it Jace?" I asked softly, making his face serene.
"Look, don't tell that to anyone, including your Dad." his hold got even tighter when he said it, making me smile, and my mind go blank.
"Why would I?"
"Why would you?"
"I wouldn't tell, no worries..."
"How can I be sure on that Audrey?"
I stepped in closer to him, making our distances inches away. His breath fanning my lips, and his grip loosens.
"Jace, if there's anything a sheriff's daughter can say, or people like me, it's I never...break a promise..."
His lips curve to a bright smile, as he backs away from me, breaths in relief.
"Thanks. That's why I l--" he cuts off himself, making his eyes widen in shock
"What?" I asked, out of confusion.
"Um...nothing..." he mumbles, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
"So, goodbye?"
"See you tomorrow..." he said, walking backwards, not taking his eyes of me.
I raised an eyebrow, as he kept walkig backward, until I heard a thud from him, hitting his car, getting his back hurt. I chuckle lightly, seeing him hurt himself, but keeps a smile mumbling 'stupid car'. He enters the drivers seat, and waves a hand goodbye before he drives off.
