I stood beside my father as we took on his bane, Polybotes. The ugly giant had hair that better suited Medusa, in my opinion. I tried to stab my sword into his scaled legs, but it just ricocheted off. I ducked under the swinging net and yelled to my dad to duck. Dad went up on his chariot and circled around Polybotes' head as a way of distraction while I angled my sword to get on the inside of his hide to scale up his leg. I made quick work of it, and was happy that I had gone on the rock-climbing wall so much. I ran up his arms as they swung by, to try and swipe at my father, but he missed as Poseidon veered away. I looked at him a split second longer, and saw him wink. At once, I knew my dad's plan. I quickly ran the rest of the way up Polybotes' arm and readied my sword. I nodded at my dad and he started to descend, before the giant under me could fully move to block himself, three things happened. One, I stabbed Riptide into Polybotes' neck while two, my dad threw his trident, which imbedded itself into Polybotes' chest. Three, one of the snakes on Polybotes' head must have seen me, because I had a pair of teeth ripping into my shoulder. I yelled in shock and ripped my shoulder away, falling off the giant as he turned back to dirt. My father saw me falling and quickly turned his chariot so that he was underneath me. He gently caught me in his arms and quickly rode his chariot over to Apollo's fight. I ground my teeth together as I felt the poison circulating through my veins start to burn. I could have healed myself, but I promised to never wield poison again, for Annabeth's sake. "Apollo!" Apollo helped Artemis deliver the godly killing blow, two arrows to the chest, but Orion kept going. I fingered Riptide in my pocket. "Dad, throw me at Orion's neck." He looked down at me in dismay, "But Perc-" I shook my head, eyes glowing in determination. "Just do it Dad." My father nodded grimly and took aim, shooting me at Orion's neck. Midair, I uncapped Riptide and used my momentum to stab through his neck, traveling all the way through, to my disgust. I came out on the other end covered in inchor. I started to fall again, but Apollo quickly caught me. "What have you done now Percy." Apollo chided as he laid me on the ground. "Oh, you know, just killed a few giants and tangled with the wrong snake." Apollo nodded and pressed his hands gently against my shoulder as I felt his magic start to take effect. As soon as it finished, I stood up slowly and took a quick surveillance of the battle while Apollo joined the fray. Jason and Zeus were trying to kill Porphyrion; Hades and Hazel were fighting Alcyoneus; Annabeth, Athena, Artemis, and Dionysus were battling Otis and Ephialtes; Hermes and Apollo were dancing around Hippolytos trying to get a lucky shot; Hephaestus, Leo, and Ares were playing with Mimas; Aphrodite, Piper, and Frank were killing Periboia. That means that Polybotes, Orion, and Enceladus were dead. My father was going to join Jason and Zeus in their trial, while I decided to start running over to Hermes and Apollo's opponent. As I got there, I saw Frank and Piper both stab (or claw) Periboia in the chest, and Aphrodite took out her own dainty sword and stabbed her through the heart, Periboia slowly turned to dirt. I tried slashing at Hippolytos' legs, but they would barely scratch against his scales. He was moving too fast for me to jump onto him, so I decided to do something even crazier. I jogged back, readied my legs, and sprinted forward. Just like a pole vaulter, I held Riptide down in pen form, and then when I went to jump, I pushed Riptide down and open, propelling me into the giant's hair. I quickly grabbed onto a piece and used it as a type of vine as I swung past his face, stabbing him in his left eye. Hippolytos screamed at the pain. "You stupid demigod! Get off my head!" Quicker than I could react, I was swiped off of his head, but I managed to grab onto a piece of his beard and I chuckled quietly, it seems that I'm playing with hair today. I quickly worked my way through to his neck and I, once again, stabbed into it. Hippolytos roared once more, and Hermes took this as his que to rush forward and smash his caduceus into Hippolytos' chest, using it quite like a sword. Again, the giant became dirt and I started falling. This time Hermes caught me and I smiled in gratitude, "Thank you Hermes." He nodded and set me down. I took a quick look around once more to see that only Porphyrion, Alcyoneus, and Otis were alive. I quickly went over to help Hades, Hazel, Frank, and Ares kill Alyconeus, but he quickly fell with a swipe from Ares and a stab from Hazel. I changed courses to help Dad, Zeus, Jason, Artemis, and Piper beat Porphyrion, but as soon as my sword started to swing at the legs, they disappeared. I quickly tried to stop my sword, but it came swinging back around and bonked my on the nose. I cursed and took my nose away from my face to see red blood dripping down my hand. My eyes widened and I tried to stop yeh blood from hitting the ground, but I wasn't fast enough and the earth sucked up my blood as soon as it hit the floor. I quickly turned my head around the search for Annabeth, but I saw a scratch on her arm already bleeding freely. My heart sank and I dropped my sword. She had it. Gaea had the blood of two half-bloods. I started cursing so bad that my dad came over and lightly cuffed me on the back of the head. I looked up at him to argue, but he just shook his head slightly. I looked down, my shoulders slumped. Poseidon put a hand on my back in comfort just as the ground started to shake. You silly gods. You believe you can beat me with just the help of a few puny demigods. I nodded to Dad and walked next to Annabeth as Piper, Jason, Frank, Hazel, and Leo walked over to us. We shall see who will prevail. We all readied our swords, spears, claws, and other, as Gaea started to rise. Though I doubt it will be you. Say your last prayers demigods, your parents have brought you to your deaths. We all waited as she continued growing higher and higher. By the end of her formation, she was about eighty feet in height. Let us fight for the right to rule. All of the gods took to their chariots while their kids climbed in wth them. We had an advantage from the air, but she was still huge. We all waited in the air, as if waiting for someone to initiate the fight. Of course, the first move was made by Ares. He whipped his horses forward and charged at Gaea, his sword pointed and chest shielded. At this, the calmness broke and Gaea lashed out as well. She grew vines high into the air, then ripped them out of the ground and used them as whips. She whipped Annabeth and I's chariots, and we went down. Father quickly used water to give us a gentle landing, but he did not see Athena's falling until it was too late. Athena had tried to use her shield and covered her daughter, but it still did barely anything from the height at which they fell. I quickly ran over and helped Athena up. I quickly pulled Annabeth up and I hugged her. "Don't do that to me ever again." I whispered in her ear, she chuckled. "Don't worry Seaweed Brain. Let's do this." I nodded and let her go. I readied Riptide and wondered how to get up to Gaea. I saw Jason using the winds to be near enough to stab Gaea, though his Roman sword was not penetrating her skin, and Leo was trying to burn her. "Annabeth, ho-" Zeus used his Master bolt to fry Gaea, but all it did was send her control over the earth into a frenzy. The whole earth spasmed and my wise girl was crushed between the large boulders that rose up around her. The rocks then retreated back into the dirt as fast as they came, but I saw that they had snapped Annabeth's neck. A quick and painless death, but still a death. I ran over to her, eyes wide. "No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. This can't be real. It was just a spasm. Only a second! Don't tell me she's...... she's....... gone." As I looked down at my wise girl, I felt something snap inside of me. We would never go to college, never live together, get married, have kids, become proud parents, be grandparents. She would never pass into her twenties. She wouldn't be able to see me until I too died. I would never see my Wise Girl alive again. Something overcame me and I stood up and stared straight at a cackling Gaea. "Duratus." Only one word, three syllables, one voice. A wave of energy spread out before me and everything stopped. It wasn't like they just stopped moving either, no, they stopped everything. Not a sound was heard. I fell back to the ground and held Annabeth for a second, just feeling her in my arms one last time. I smoothed out her hair, closed her beautiful gray eyes, now dull and lifeless, and kissed her lips one last time. I slipped a drachma into her hand as I stood up. Everything was still frozen, and I let it stay. My only goal was to be in Gaea's face, and I started walking towards her. The next thing I knew, I was walking on an invisible staircase of air. I kept my face down, eyes glowing with rage and determination. A hard wind picked up, and everyone was still frozen. I reached the top and stood right in front of Gaea's wide, mud-like eyes. "'Let's see who shall win.' 'Let us fight for the right to rule.' 'Puny demigods.' I think you are missing something Gaea. We, the demigods, don't need someone else to tell us we are walking to our deaths, if we fight, we know. Now, you. I don't think anyone told you, but you are about to loose. So, when you get back to Tartarus, make sure you comfort all of your children. They have taken a great life today, but in doing so, made an even greater enemy. Goodbye Gaea. I hope you rot forever." I took out Riptide and looked right in her eyes. I gathered up all of the unknown energy into my arm, and launched my sword right into her chest. I then used all of my power over the air and water to lift up the giantess Gaea. "Dad!" I yell, strain visible in my voice. He understands me right away and jolts the pegasi into action. He lifts his trident high and launches it with deadly accuracy towards her throat. As the flies, it enlarges enough to pierce all the way through. I see the ground try frantically to heal her, but it cannot even reach her feet. Gaea screams and tries to thrash, but my bonds hold her tight. Sweat is pouring down me in buckets, and when all that's left of Gaea is mud, I fling it outward in a five-hundred-mile radius. I sink to my knees on the air platform and then if gives out. I start to fall and my dad catches me for a final time. I smile weakly up at my dad and he hugs me tight. I feel my mind start to slip away and Dad hugs me even tighter. "Sleep well son, I will be here when you wake up." With that, I succumb to the darkness of oblivion.

Have a happy new year everybody!
