I sat down next to Hermione and Ron as my eyes strayed to the unknown man standing next to Percy, most-likely a transfer student of some kind by his blank robes. He acted oddly, like he was above everyone else. The transfer student stuck his chin out with his nose turned upwards and his posture was stiff, all in all, he looked kind of like royalty. "Hey Harry." I hummed in response as I turned to Ron, seeing his eyes flick from me up to where Percy was standing. "Who's the guy standing next to Percy?" I shrugged my shoulders noncommittally. "He looks to be a right git, like Malfoy." I hummed again and turned back to look at him, squinting my eyes a little in thought. "I guess, but you never know..." Hermione butted in on me as Ron huffed. "That's right Ron, you can't judge someone without meeting them first." It was Ron's turn to hum, as I could tell he didn't believe Hermione. Before she could lash at him again though, the talking everywhere shushed and McGoangall stood up, approaching the golden owl podium to speak. "Welcome everyone, and welcome back to all the students returning. This year we have something special happening. Two students, both hailing from different magical backgrounds, are coming to our school for their final year of education. We will introduce and have them sorted after the normal procedure for first years. Now, let us begin the Sorting." The Sorting Hat looked a little disgruntled at McGonagall's proclamation, but began his song nonetheless.

"Welcome, welcome I say to you,
To find here your newest home,
A talking hat, I am, that's true.
'Tis other peculiar things that roam.

Here in this castle divided,
We try to get along with our best,
So please do as you are guided,
Or there be accidents of early rest.

But now, sadly, I must separate you,
As was the founders' will,
Between the four houses strong and true,
And separate you I must and will.

Shall you go to Gryffindor?
'Tis where there live the brash.
They are all quick to temper,
And thus often-most to clash.

Or would you rather be Slytherin?
The house of tricks and plans,
Even though not all are truth,
'Tis always united when it stands.

What about our Hufflepuffs?
They stand loyal and strong,
The only fault of Helga's puffs,
Is going too far to undo wrong.

And don't forget sharp Ravenclaw,
The most intelligent of the four.
Knowledge is their perfect weapon,
They shall always know truth from lore.

So come along and let me sit,
As I have since my fate was sealed,
Upon your head and read your wit,
For your houses to be revealed."

I smiled as the hat finished up his song, turning to look at the Headmistress as she unraveled the scroll of names. She stood stiffly, looking as strict as ever in her high bun, as she began to call the first years forward. "Alpona, Lysander."
What felt like hours later, the last boy was happily sorted into Ravenclaw, signaling the time for the mysterious transfer student and Percy to finally be sorted. I could tell mostly everybody was interested in the two people, even the Slytherins. I saw the Headmistress roll up the scroll and oddly enough, take out another one. She opened it, took one glance, and seemed to clear her throat nervously, taking a glance at the pair, but I couldn't understand why. "Would you kindly step forward and sit upon this stool after I call you forward by name... and title apparently." I saw Percy pale as he must have caught on to what Mrs. McGonagall was saying, but it still didn't make sense to me. "Loki Odinson, The Adoptive Son Of Odin, the Allfather; God of Trickery, Mischief, Fire, Ice, Illusions, and Lies; Prince of Asgard, Second-in-Line to Rule, Owner of a Silver Tongue; Freer of Possession by Thanos; Brother to Thor Odinson; Receiver of Powers from the Allfather; and Owner of the Title, The Trickster." My heart seemed to stop as the image I saw of the mysterious guy now named Loki disappeared and a taller me reappeared. It was my eldest brother! He smirked at Percy, then at us all, and strutted up to the stool to take a seat. Before he sat though, he spun around on his heal, smirk still present. "Try Loki Potter." He plucked the Hat out of the Headmsitress' shocked hands and placed it on his head like a crown. The hat gruffed for a second before stiffening. "Slytherin!" The Slytherin table stood up and clapped with smirks on their faces as my brother's robes turned an elegant emerald color to match our eyes. I finally understood why he stood regally, but he was Slytherin now- would he still be my brother? Taking a seat near the middle where an empty seat had magically appeared, Loki caught my eyes and gave a small smile, winking, before resuming his cold smirk. I turned back to Mrs. McGonagall just as she began to speak. Percy looked pale, but he took a deep breath and pushed his shoulders back as he walked silently up to the stool. Following Loki's example, Percy faced us all and smiled sheepishly. "My name was originally Perseus Potter, but please, call me Percy." Sitting down on the stool with a straight back, the Headmistress seemed to shake this shock off as she placed the Sorting Hat on his head. It took only a few seconds before the Hat started muttering to itself, but everyone in the Great Hall was still stunned by his many titles that we all could hear it. "No, obviously not Ravenclaw- but you know that don't you.... never one for book smarts.... not Slytherin at all... too open for them... Gryffindor as a possibility... something tells me that's wrong... you think so? Alright then... must be- Hufflepuff!" The Hufflepuff table, along with everyone else, just stared as Percy took off the Sorting Hat and nervously looked around until two of the puffs stood up with wide smiles on their faces and clapped loudly. I recognized them as Percy's face broke into a large smile as well. Susan Bones and Hannah Abbott seemed to start a trend seeing as soon every puff was on their feet and clapping. Percy sat down next to the two girls and shot me a smile before turning to Susan as she presumably asked him a question. "Well, after those interesting... moments, I believe anything that I could say would be forgotten. As such, let us all enjoy a nice meal." Following her last word, the elves made food appear on all of our tables and most everyone dug in, including yours truly. What could I say? The pumpkin juice and treacle tart were literally to die for!
