At an office, owned by Overwatch, Jack Morrison was looking over reports of recent Overwatch operations. Sits back as he reflects on the last mission, the cartel sting operation of route 66. The fight between Deadlock and the forces of Overwatch didn't last long, thanks to The Unit's quick infiltration into Deadlock's armory, preventing the bandits from arming themselves with better weapons to fight back against Overwatch agents. He looked over the notes of the late Overwatch agent, Gerald Lacroix. Lacroix wrote down in his notes stating The Unit seemed more capable than any military force he has ever seen. The journal points out they presented themselves to be highly disciplined, organized, skilled, and seek to accomplish the mission at any cost.
Since the events of the King's Row Uprising, The Unit became a legendary special operations unit and demonstrated to be a great tool against terrorism and crime on the global stage. Suddenly, his train of thought was interrupted by the sound the phone on his desk buzzing loudly. He looks at the caller ID, displaying the name of a secretary at Overwatch HQ. He presses the green button and puts it on speaker.
"Commander Morrison here." He greets to his secretary with a sense of power.
"Sir, did you schedule a meeting with..." The secretary's voice fades away for a minute. The receiver picked up. " Are you expecting to see General Lawson?" She asked with a lack of confidence that escaped from her mouth.
"Yes, send them up to my office."
"Alright, they are heading their way now."
Morrison hangs up the phone and waits for his new friend to show up. Minutes later, the door opens. Lawson walks in with the four legendary marines following behind their commander. As the soldiers gave their greetings to Morrison with a salute, Morrison holds out a hand.
"I have a meeting room next door. We can take the conversation there." Morrison offers. Lawson nods, The Unit move into the room with Morrison following behind them. As they head into the meeting room, a area with white walls that are made for dry and erase markers with a long table in the middle while surrounded by black chairs with wheels for legs. Aaron, Apollo, Atticus, and Barnes are invited to sit down as Morrison closes and locks the door behind them. As Lawson sits down at one end of the table, Morrison begins the meeting.
Morrison takes a moment to breathe before he started talking. "Gentlemen, I am grateful that you guys are going out of your way to help Overwatch at this time. It sickens me that I have been hearing rumors of shady things happening inside the same organization that helped the world out with the Omnic Crisis. I guess your team has been given the torch to help stabilize global stability.
Lawson chuckles quietly and quickly. "Well, we can't take all the credit. We wouldn't been much help if you hadn't came to us to expand our operations greatly."
Morrison's face displayed agreement with Lawson. Suddenly, he reaches slides a folder on the table. Lawson opens it up, looking through papers inside the folder. Lawson qucikly sits up from his seat displaying a shocked expression.
"This is from the weapons sting at Route 66." The U.S. general exclaims with frustration. "My report stated the dealer representing for Deadlock was somehow shot. I wonder what happened there?"
Morrison gave a shrug. "I don't know. Right now, my hands are tied. I can't focus on investigating a botched mission that involved a high valued individual being shot. I have to head to Egypt soon, Talon raided an research facility a day earlier than planned. Anyways, I needed to know about the dealer who was shot somehow."
"Don't we all?" Lawson scratches his chin for a minute until he came up with a response. "What happened to the dealer, by the way?"
"He is in critical condition at a prison medical hospital. He won't be able to answer any questions to anyone, especially to you guys."
