As the armored bus pulls past the sturdy concrete walls as it rolls up the driveway, the four operators hop out before Emmett, Jacob, Kristy, Shay, and Kiera step out to glance at their new home before heading inside. The sanctuary did a great job of masking it's presence from the occupation force as they see nothing more than an abandoned building.
"Welcome to our sanctuary." Barnes begins as she twists the key to unlock the door. "This is your new home now." Barnes opens the door and lets Jericho's former captives inside the headquarters. The new group carry what is left of their stuff inside the building.
As they head inside, Barnes turns around and faces the group, stopping them in their tracks. She points to the right of the long hallway. "Place your stuff in the room over there. That'll be where you will sleep. The room next to it is the lounge if you want to hangout somewhere nice." She pauses as she points to the left direction of the hallway. "When you have settled in, head to the far room on the right. That will be the kitchen. I bet you guys are hungry. We'll cook anything you ask, there is plenty of food."
At that moment, Jacob raised his hand. "Can you guys cook up some fish." He asks quietly. "I'm on a dietary restriction and cannot eat any meat."
Barnes smiled as she looks to Aaron. "That can be arranged, right?" Aaron nodded before looking to the other survivors. "Who else wants something to eat. We have anything you can name."
Emmett raises a hand. "Can you make some steaks?" He asked curiously.
Aaron thinks for a moment. "Sure, that can happen. Is everyone good on that?" The rest the survivors tilt their heads down a few times. The weapon expert smiled. "Alright then, I'll be in the kitchen if you need me." He heads down the hallway and enters the kitchen. Barnes turns to the rest. "He'll let you guys know when food is ready. In the meantime, feel free to talk to the other survivors in the lounge, they are excited to see you."
Chloe signal Frank to follow her to the operation room while Dmitri heads into the kitchen in case Aaron needed some help. Emmett, Shay, Keira, Kristy, and Jacob move down the hallway to the bedroom. Keira starts a small conversation as they head down to the bedroom.
"I cannot believe the amount of luck to be rescued by these soldiers." Keira whispers as they look around. "I wonder who they managed to save. I should have asked if they know where Liam is."
Shay shrugged, but didn't say anything. Emmet quickly notice this behavior, prompting him to ask Shay some questions. "How are you doing, kid?"
Shay shrugged as he sighed. "I don't think I'll meet anyone I recognize or connect with. I'm just uncertain of what will happen when this is over."
The cop sighed. "Don't worry kid, this is a lot better than that office building. The guys are better fighters than me, that's for sure." Emmet pauses briefly as he looks at the blank stare of the anxious young kid.
The group enter the lounge as they spot Liam, Morris, and Stefan talking to each other. Soon, Stefan turns around to see the new group standing at the threshold. "You must be the new guests." Stefan says as he stands up and extends an arm out. He looks to Emmet in his police attire. "You're a cop?" The polish lad asks immediately.
"Officer Emmet Rose, at your service." He shakes Stefan's hand as Morris gets up from his seat. Morris heads to Shay standing still anxiously. "Hey kid, what's your name."
Shay pauses for a second. "Shay, Shay Royle." He grasps Morris's hand lightly before shaking it before falling back to silence. Morris raises an eyebrow. "You're a quiet one." The technician commented.
Emmet laughs lightly. "He doesn't say much. You'll get used to it." The officer laughed as he lightly pats Shay's back.
"You know each other?" Morris asked quickly.
