Weeks pass by, citizens and construction crews of Rio made a remarkable effort to remove debris to free the survivors, moving closer to remove the obstruction from the door. The best news of all came from Overwatch, who sent a drone to deliver supplies and food and rope it through an opening of rubble.
With the food and supplies the Overwatch drone roped down, the morale is at its peak. Most of the security roster was playing a game of soccer with a ball donated by the favela community. Aaron was working on his notebook while the medic tends to Atticus's injury. Barnes and Apollo were with Malik, having a chill conversation at his place.
"And that's why being a freelance is the better than working for a company." Malik explained with a smile on his face.
"That's pretty interesting." Barnes points out while taking a sip of water. Malik nods and pauses for a minute. "You know, I want to know more about you guys. Can you tell me about King's Row?" Barnes coughs a little. "Didn't the CIA tell you everything you need to know?"
"Well, they mentioned King's Row when they talked about you guys. I never got the full details." Malik replies. Barnes drew a breath before scooting closer to Malik. "Because you're a great friend, I'm going to tell you what happened in King's Row. But in return, you bury that secret away, got it?" Barnes asks quietly. Malik nods quickly, waiting for her to tell the story.
Barnes sighs. "When Null Sector attacked London, the prime minister quickly asked our government to help evacuate the civilians before combining their forces to retake the streets. Because Overwatch was banned from operating in London, J-SOC assembled a massive task force of operators from Tier One and Two along with a handful of marines to handle several areas of London as the violent uprising spreads slowly."
-Flashback- Day 4 of the King's Row Uprising
Eight operatives, four wearing unrecognizable outfit, hurry through the street before leaning against the door. Behind the assembly of soldiers, tanks, and helicopters was the evacuation site the British and American forces protected heavily, The Emirates Stadium; home of the Arsenal football team. Chloe, Aaron, Frank, and Dimitri were tasked by J-SOC to tag along with the top squad from the Special Air Service. Their mission was to retake government buildings and landmarks to advance the counter attack.
"Baseplate, we're preparing to storm the Parliament building, how copy?" SAS Operative, Eagle, reports in.
"Noted, Eagle 1-2. Be advised, hostiles on the southwest corner of the fifth floor of this building are hammering the evac site. Take it out to buy it some valuable time."
"Roger that." Eagle confirms before turning to his team. "Mates, an enemy crow's nest on the fifth floor of this building is attacking the Arsenal evacuation site with heavy ordinance. We need to move quickly."
"Acknowledged." The taskforce confirmed.
Eagle tosses an EMP grenade. The room lights up, disabling the Bastion and the Null Troopers. The SAS fire quickly take out the lone Bastion while the Americans took out any Null Trooper left standing.
"Good job. Keep moving." Eagle signals the taskforce to rally on him. "Alright, let's take this slowly. We need to retake the building to rescue the mayor and help the Emirates stadium evac site."
He turns to Chloe. "Get your team to the fifth floor. We'll look for the mayor."
"Copy that." She replied.
The SAS leave the lobby for the hallway before Barnes signaled the squad to head on for the staircase. As they reach to the end of the room, Lawson's team stops near the door. Chloe holds out a hand behind her.
