I was in the middle of unpacking my heels and putting them in the closet when I heard the doorbell.

I ran down the steps and opened the door see Pepper, Darwin and Tae standing there.

I gave Pepper a hug. "Glad yall made it."

"We would have made it sooner but Darwin drives slow as hell." Pepper said.

I laughed and hugged Darwin. "I drive the speed limit." He said.

"Oh so I guess you forgot all about me?" Tae said.

"Come here dummy." I pulled him into a hug.

"This is a nice ass house." Pepper said looking around.

"Yep. Ace picked it out." I put my hands in my back pocket.

"Speaking of Ace where is he and the rest of the fam?" Darwin asked me.

"Ace took the kids to McDonald's since Abby wanted to take a shower."

"Oh. Well you cooked sis? Because a nigga is starving like hell." Tae said.

I laughed. "Boy we just moved in today. We don't have any groceries yet."

"Me and Darwin will run to Walmart for ya. Give us a list."

I  wrote them a list of all the things we needed and sent them on there way. So now it was just me and Pepper.

"When do you start working?" She asked eating some Doritos.

"In 4 days actually."

"Dang. Already?"

"Yup."

"Hey Lauren! Where are the towels?" Abby yelled from upstairs.

"In the closet in the hallway!" I yelled back.

The front door opened and Alexis came in with French fries in her hand.

"Lexi pooh!" Pepper screamed and opened her eyes and Lexi ran in them.

I laughed. "You just saw her yesterday."

"I know but I missed this cute face." Pepper said pinching her cheeks.

Ace came in with Luke.

"I got you a burger baby." Ace said and handed me a McDonald's bag.

"You know I'm on a diet."

"Doesn't look like it." He slapped my ass.

I shook my head and grabbed my daughter.

"You ready to go to bed?" I asked her.

"No." She said stuffing her mouth with fries.

"Well it's your bed time." I said looking at the clock and it was 7:05 pm.

Lexi started licking her greasy fingers.

"Let's get you in the tub."

"Where Darwin and Tae at?" I asked Pepper taking a bite of my Big Mac.

"They went to Walmart to get groceries." She said looking down at her phone.

I nodded.

"Oh shit." Pepper said.

"What?" I asked curious.
