Maya's POV
"NOO!! Josh! Don't leave me!" I screamed.
"Maya! Maya, Maya! I'm right here! Wake up! It's just a dream!" I heard Josh's voice, but I couldn't see him.
"Open your eyes, ferret. You're okay. I'm right here. My gosh, you're shaking." My eyes shot open.
It was a dream. A terrible, horrible, AWFUL dream.
I looked around the room. I looked at the clock. 2:30am.
Josh was on top of me, his hands clutching my shoulders, one knee on either side of me.
"Maya! You scared me to death!" Josh sat up and ran a hand through his hair.
I burst into tears and hugged him.
"Settle down, Papaya. You know I can't bear to see you cry." He rubbed my back.
Josh's POV
I held Maya until she stopped crying, or at least, stopped crying SO HARD.
"It was just a dream." I pulled her onto my lap.
She told me everything. Everything about Melody, how I cheated, she ran into the street, got hit by a car, what I said when she died. Everything.
I wish I had never met Melody. I wish I hadn't been at the park. I wish Maya had never had that nightmare.
I gave her a weak smile. "You're too important to me. I couldn't ever cheat on such a wonderful person. I don't care if you're family is crazy. You're family is MY family. I don't care if you think you're broken, you aren't. Even if you were I wouldn't ca-" she cut me off by kissing me.
"Damn. Why you gotta be so sexy." I chuckled.
"'Cause that's the way my mama made me." she smirked.
"Let's get some sleep." I said.
I lied down and she rested her head on my bare chest.
She fell asleep, and soon after, I did, too.
