Return To The Jungle

Release me from my leash.

I feel like I'm forced to preserve my smile.

Good behavior gets you places.

Maybe, I don't want to be good, today.

The grumpiness that visited me decided to drag me by the arms through the morning.

I'm tired, but I'm wide awake.

All at once.

Maybe, my emotions long to crawl back into the jungle from which they came.

They want to be set free,

and yell deeply.

They want their echoes to shake the trees,

and send them tumbling down.

Maybe that'll get the attention of other bodies.
