The Harrow/Holt Family:

Bowen Davis, Saige Holt (Bowen's sister), Maggie Holt/Harrow (Bowen's mom), and Jimmy Harrow (Bowen's father).

The Cruce Family:

Cassidy Cruce, Kennedy Laxin/Cruce (Cassidy's mom), Lenard Cruce (Cassidy's dad).

~~Cassidy's Point Of View~~

"Cassidy! Come on," my mom said from the door.

"Yea, I'm coming," I grabbed my phone and ran out of the house. I jumped in my dad's truck.

"Cassidy? I think you left the keys in the door," my dad said.

"Darn." I ran back up to the door and grabbed the keys, making sure the door was locked. As I was about to open the the door, my dad put the truck in reverse, pulling out of the driveway, "Dad!! Let me in!!" I could see him laughing, and I couldn't help it.

He finally unlocked the door, and I jumped back in, buckling up.

"Can we never leave on time," my mother muttered from her seat.

My dad smiled at her, "But you still love us!" She gave him an annoyed look, which just made him smile more.

"If you want to be on time then maybe you should go," I suggested.

He gave me the same look my mother had just used on him and put the truck in drive.

We were going to a friends house. Saige, the eleven year old girl who I had become friends with, lived about 25 minutes away, so the drive was kinda boring. Saige's parents had invited us to come and have dinner with them that night.

A little something to know about Saige, she's insane. I swear, I don't know how her brother lived with her. Her brother was Bowen.

Bowen and I hadn't really had a conversation in a while, and I almost missed the conversations. Bowen was just a little bit under a year older than me, so we got along pretty well. He was the mediator between Saige and I. When she was getting a little bit to crazy (usually when she had been eating candy) we would always try to keep her still.

We usually failed.

But we had a lot of fun doing it. Once we had tied her to her bed frame and left her. It was hilarious. We had been laughing right outside her door.

Bowen was a really funny guy once you got to know him. He had a picture on his phone, and Saige was always saying how he loved it to death.

I was going to find out what that picture was. I laughed at myself for being such a dork. That described Cassidy Cruce for you.

We pulled up at the Harrow's house a few minutes later. We walked to the door, and in less than a knock, Saige was at the door.

"Hey Cass!" I gave her a hug with what arm I had. My mom just had to be extra, so she brought banana pudding and macaroni and cheese. I can't complain, those were two of my favorite dishes.

I walked in their house and sat the dishes on the counter, seeing Bowen come down the stairs.

"Hey Bowen," I said.

"Hey Cass." I only let Saige and Bowen call me Cass. Everyone else would change it to something like 'Cassiroll' or something stupid. Bowen and Saige just kept it at Cass, and I appreciated it.

My parents went to talking to Maggie and Jimmy Harrow, Saige and Bowen's parents.

"What's up," Bowen said as he walked outside to get the last two things out of my dads truck with me.

"Not much. Homework, projects, the normal middle school stuff." Bowen laughed. He understood what I meant.

Bowen had just graduated middle school, and now was now at the high school, which happened to be less than a mile away from my house.

"So I have this crazy teacher, Mr. Barrow, and I swear this man...He thinks he's related to my dad just because his name rhymes. It's insane," I laughed at his little rant. "Hey! It's not funny! I literally can't stand when he does it! It's like he thinks I'm his son or something."

I just laughed again. He gave me a quick glance and then closed the door to the truck. He walked in, holding the door open for me.

"Well thank you kind sir," I said in a mock fancy person voice.

"No problem madam," he smile his goofy grin and did a small bow.

"You're a goof," I said as I sat the last bag on the counter.

"I take pride in that statement."

I laughed, "You aren't the only one!"

I went over to where my mother was talking to Mrs. Maggie.

"Hey girlie," she said, and gave me a hug.

"Hi!" I had always known Mrs. Maggie, she had been over the kids in the nursery for a while. She was probably my favorite teacher to work with, she knew her way around kids.

Saige butted into our conversation, but none of us minded. We all talked until my dad and Mr. Harrow said it was time to eat. They were starving.

Saige, Bowen, and I all sat at the small table in the other room as we ate. It was BBQ sandwiches, corn, chips, and banana pudding. Welcome to the south.

Saige ran to the bathroom, and the awkward silence started. Bowen continued to eat his sandwich as I checked my phone's snapchat.

"Child," he said, "We are at the table get off your phone." I laughed as I put it away.

"Ok then talk," I said, "I'm only on my phone because no one is saying anything."

"You could say something. I'm just chilling here eating my sandwich."

"Ok then what do I say?"

"Umm..." he stopped, "I could get totally deep and start talking about the meaning of life."

"Yea, I'll pass on that conversation. How about..." I looked at his shirt. "How about why your shirt has a plate with a monster on it?"

"Now that's actually funny story." He put his sandwich down, "So my teacher will let kids make shirt designs so I made this and he let me print it. So basically the monster is being eaten, as it shows on the plate, and its like  'oh how dare you! You're eating me you monster!'. I don't know I thought it was funny."

"Yea, it's 'funny'," we both laughed as Saige came back in the room and sat down, Bowen and I eating the last parts of our sandwiches.
