CHAPTER SIX
"He's the ass that got your phone took off of you, right?" Grant asks and I nod, turning to Ana and Luisa who have their mouths ajar.
"That was, like, so hot!" Luisa screeches. "The way you towered over him — and oh my God, I swear Brad's muscles flexed. He was so trying to impress Mollie!"
Grant raises an eyebrow at them and turns to me, but I shake my head. "You just get used to it."
"Okay," He laughs. "Anyway, I have a spare phone you can borrow, if you want?" Ugh, rich kids.
"Um. . ." I frown. "I don't know, I'd feel kinda bad."
"Consider it an apology for last night," He laughs.
Of course, after he made a grande entrance to my house last night, my parents had caught us and weren't very happy. Though I wasn't punished for being rebellious (Grant took full responsibility for it and said he didn't know I was grounded and wanted to surprise me), they gave me a full lecture on how I need to be more careful. They called Grant's parents and they got him and took him home. That was literally it. Well, then I went to bed and slept, but then that was it.
"You don't need to apologise to me for something my parents did," I shrug. "Just buy me something nice for my birthday."
"When's your birthday?" He asks and I raise an eyebrow at him. "Kidding, I know it's in a week. And don't worry, princess, I'll get you something nice."
"Thank you," I smile and begin to eat my lunch.

You know when you get grounded, what happens? Perhaps your get your phone took off of you for a week and then you get it back, or maybe you have to do more chores.
I've never really been grounded so I wasn't sure what to fully expect, but what I got sincerely pissed me off.
A day of involuntary work at the local hospital. Great.
Now, don't get me wrong: I'm all for charity work and helping out with stuff — but involuntary work is a big put off.
Of course, I didn't find out until last minute when I arrived at home. Grant's mom had given me a ride home and after we departed, I got inside only to be shouted at by my mother.
"Why aren't you ready to get to hospital?! I sent you a text on your phone!" She had shouted towards me and I stopped myself from rolling my eyes at her.
"Firstly, why am I meant to be going to hospital?" I'm only dying of extreme boredom without my phone. "And secondly, I'm grounded, remember?"
My mother straightened up, surprised that she was wrong for once. "You're doing work at the hospital. Your Aunt Nicky got you a place. I completely forgot you didn't have your phone, sorry. Now, go get changed and I'll meet you in the car. Quickly, we're leaving in five minutes!"
I sigh and run upstairs, annoyed and tired from school. I change into a shirt and some skinny jeans before tugging on my jacket.
My mother switches on the radio when I get in the car and fasten my seat belt, explaining that she's going shopping whilst I do my 'voluntary' work and that I'm not getting paid.
"Right, we're here! Go on, out you get, Mollie." My mother shoos me out the car and I tumble out, falling into someone. I look up and see Brad, his smile on show.
"What're you doing at the hospital?" I ask, straightening myself up as I realise he's got his hands on my waist, stopping me from falling. He stuffs his hand in his pockets too and he shrugs.
"I could ask the same," He scrunched his eyebrows together. "But I'm here for some blood tests: nothing big."
"Oh, okay," I ask and he gives me a shy smile. "Um, I'm doing volunteer work for my Aunt. They're short on staff."
"That's cool, I guess?" He says awkwardly and I shrug. "I gotta go home, talk to you another time."
"Um, yeah," I nod and move out of his way by stepping out the way. He mutters a thankyou and walks off, leaving me to go to my aunt.
After a lifetime's-worth of work, I eventually am outside, waiting for my mom, who's unusually unpunctual. When she pulls up to the hospital fifteen minutes late, we speed off home.
"How was it?" She begins to interrogate me, and I tap my fingers on my legs, feeling nervous. My mom makes me scared incase I say something wrong.
"Okay," I just nod, looking out the window. "I just did as I was told and everything ran smoothly."
"Awesome," She mumbles and concentrates on driving. When we arrive home, I make myself some dinner and head off upstairs.
