Life with a dragon. Who knew. Darius has saved my life, and I did not know how to repay him. Darius had helped me set up a small living area in his cave and he usually went went me when I went out to do something. A few months passed quickly, and I was used to living alone with Darius. Sometimes there would be smoke in the distance and I could just imagine a village burning and the people screaming. It made me angry that I was sitting here in the safety of a cave under the protection of a dragon, and other people out there was that was suffering under the kings reign.
I was laying down after a bad night of tossing and turning after hearing that another village had burned when Darius came over to where I was. "You are quiet today." said Darius. I nod silently. "It is the villages again?" asked Darius. I sat up. "Why am I such a big coward? We can help those people right?" I asked. "You are not a coward. You lost people dear to you and you do not like seeing it happen to others. You are compassionate. That is what makes you special." said Darius. "I wish there was something we can do." I said. "If you want to do something then you should do it. However, you are living a new life. " said Darius. "I know. We made a very comfortable living space here. Don't get me wrong, I love living here, but I can't help but think of the others out there that need help." I said. "There will always be someone to help the people. Just give it time." said Darius. "The people out there do not have time." I said. "Change the things you can, work through the things that you can't. " said Darius. I nod silently and look out towards the water fall. I was now thinking about what I would do. Would I step up and see what I would do to help the people, or would I still be here in this cave minding my own business...
