= SEVEN YEARS AGO =
This felt wrong.
Oh, this felt, so wrong.
All those years you gagged at the mention of HYDRA, the years spent in destroying everything under their name, [mentally] spatting upon their symbol as if it was dirt- all out of pure disgust.
And now you were one of them.
Sort of.
Being undercover still counts. When you went against your beliefs, you were never one who could simply just shrug it off. It haunted you until you made up for it.
You stared at the computer screen blankly. It's been months since you've been here, and you felt more disgusting as each day passed you by.
"What's holding you, (y/uc/l/n)? Get back to work!" One of the men at the door yelled at you.
You wanted to scream back, "I'm a doctor! I don't know my way around your toxic programs, and I will never learn!" But then you'd probably die on the spot.
You missed your home, needless to say. Sure you lived on a plane, but you worked under SHIELD, which was one of the best jobs you could've asked for. You weren't completely one of them, just the doctor, creating serums and vaccinations with Fitzsimmons.
You'd been sent with two other people who were undercover as well to watch over you, just in case, but you didn't see them too often. The base was huge, and you still hadn't figured it all out yet. You were scared out of your goddamn mind.

= SIX YEARS AGO = Your door shook with frantic knocks, and you heard your name being yelled from the other side.
You ran and whipped it open and the two people who had been undercover with you were out of breath, their faces red.
"Y/n, we need to go now," one of them said. "Please, let's go."
"What- What's going on? Are you okay?"
"Our cover has been blown and you're in danger, y/l/n! Come with us, NOW."
