I gnawed on my lip nervously and twisted my fingers together. I spun away from the door my heart beating erratically in my chest. Before turning back around; shaking my head.

I had to do this.

Jughead was sitting in his usual booth in the diner. He looked up at me when the familiar bell rang throughout the near empty diner. His mouth quirking into a half-smile.

I slid into the booth; plastering on a bright fake smile.

"Hey," I greeted. My voice was far too cheery, the plasticity of it streatching thin over the darker emotions bubbling in my chest.

"Hello," he greeted in reply, his slanted half-smile growing into a grin.

"I should tell you something, before anything happens," I began dropping my gaze and with it my cheery facade.

"I'm sorry I left the way I did. I really am, Jug. I shouldn't have left at all, especially not just disappearing one night," I shook my head as I spoke the nerves creeping up my spine.

"But, I was--" I heaved a deep breath and finally pulled myself togther enough to look at him.

His eyebrows were drawn together and his lips pulled into a thin line. He seemed calm, almost uninterested but I could see the curiosity burning behind his eyes.

I cleared my throat nerves clawing at my stomach.

"I found my brother."
