I stood in front of the mirror as I scooped my hair into a ponytail. Lee hung off my open door.
"Hurry up I want to get this over with," he said.
He smoothed down the sides of his hair as I turned to look at him - a nervous tick.
"Cheer up a bit," I said pulling up my socks. "We might have fun...."
"Pfft, unlikely," he sighed. "Either way what does it matter."
He tapped the back of his foot against the door and looked down.
"You're nervous," I whispered.
He glanced up at me, a tiny bit of pink coating his cheeks before he looked back down.
"What does it matter, we can't both be happy?"
I bit my lip, Lee was my brother. The person I was meant to tell everything to but he didn't know. He didn't know that I was also gay. I was going to tell him but I just didn't. And I still couldn't tell him now.
"Well I want you to be happy," I said making my way over to him.
I hugged him, standing on my toes to wind my arms around his neck.
"It's not up to you Ellis and you know that it's up to him," he hugged me back, squeezing me tightly before he let go. "Come on let's go."
