Sammy was fiddling with the sugar packets like he always does at coffee shops and I had to fight my urge to backhand him in the face.
"Would you stop?!" I said as he ripped open a packet and the granules tumbled onto the table.
"Sorry," he placed it back in the pot with the unopened ones and sat on his hands.
"I'm just fidgety."
"I know but they'll be here soon," I said.
"That's why I'm fidgety."
There was the tinkle of the little bell that sat above the door and we turned to see a blonde boy and girl step into the shop. They looked over towards our table and although Sammy was still fussing with the sugar packets I locked eyes with the girl and saw a flash of blue....
